Q: Does this work with a Wink Hub without paying for a subscription?

I don’t know and could not get it to work. I got frustrated and gave up. I’ll try again but not right away. I don’t have a wink hub. Maybe that is the missing piece.

Well you can have it tell you when it opens and tell you when it closes but I'm not aware of any alarm. However you can open the app on your phone or iPad and check to see if it is open or closed. I really use the app a lot just to check. As an example, a few days ago we got an Amazon delivery and have the option where the item is placed in our garage. We got a notice that the garage door was opening, I then checked a Wyze camera and saw the truck and delivery person, and we also got a notice that the door closed.... Worked simply, easily, and well.

NO, the hub doesn't do that. You need to get a wall control that has that feature built in. If you have an older LiftMaster this may not be available to you. If you check the wall control will have a feature called TTC ( Timer to Close)

I contacted Chamberlain and they indicated this is the correct part for the older My Garage (MyQ-G0201/821LM) hubs but if you look at the PDF documentation included in the Amazon listing, the right column shows that the new sensor must be installed with a spacer to be compatible with the older hubs. It is not clear whether this product as ordered through Amazon comes with the plastic spacer or not. I've asked the question about whether the spacer is included on the listing but as with the other answers to your post, folks are clueless or otherwise unhelpful.
