For both home or industrial use: refrigerators and freezers, perishable food , wine cellars, humidors, nurseries, attics and crawl spaces, workshops, vehicle cargo spaces, ,vacation homes, manufacturing, warehouses, museums, hvac, refrigeration trucking (cold chain), greenhouses, barns, , documentation storage, etc. Anywhere you want to know what the temperature is at a specific time period. The pocket size monitor records temperatures by the day for either the first or last 100 days. It monitors temperatures ranging from -5f to +122f (-20c to +50c). Celsius & fahrenheit temps are displayed on lcd screen as floating bar-graph. The unit comes in its own clear plastic waterproof case for humid areas, outdoors or submersing directly into water.

Works as expected.
Works as expected. The only caveat is that the daily min/max digital display will not show out of range temperatures (<-5 or >122 F on my device). You can still get the actual min/max from the bar graph. In a situation where there are not constantly fluctuating temperatures over a large range this is not a problem. If you have or expect wild temperature fluctuations that could fall outside the range of the device it could be a pain to have to read the bar graph to get the min/max.In my case I'm using it to monitor the operation of freezers so, while the temperatures recorded are below the minimum that can be displayed on the min/max digital readout, I can still see how the units are behaving by scrolling through the bar graphs, noting any anomalies and reading the actual min from the bar graph display.

Waterproof logging thermometer
I have been successfully using this to track min/max over a long period of time in my garden. It almost never gets into the double digit minus Celsius so I haven't had a problem with batteries failing. I try to replace the batteries every three months or so whether the have depleted or not. If I thought that cold weather might be an issue with the batteries I would try Energizer Ultimate Lithium AAA batteries (but I haven't confirmed that they are compatible so YMMV).Some issues I've had with my unit:The plastic cover on the battery compartment is brittle and has cracked or broken in several places. But because the unit has a separate waterproof container, this hasn't been a reliability issue.Whenever I change the batteries the unit gets into a state where the display doesn't work and the buttons won't wake it up. Pressing the recessed reset button doesn't work even though I can feel it click. Eventually I figured out if I put the batteries in reverse before putting them in correctly, the unit fired back to life. Kind of like a reset. Its tedious to transcribe the date/min/max into a spreadsheet but for the price I am satisfied with this unit.
