Bought as a quiet 40th birthday present for a big cheese fan. It was well received and the cheese was simple to make and actually really tasty. The outside of the box, but inside could’ve been better present. If felt a bit like a kids science kit. But overall, really happy with the purchase.

The pack gives you lots of different options to try. The hardest thing is sourcing the right milk to make each cheese. Good fun and a great gift.

Overall I am very happy with this kit. The directions are clear and easy to follow. There are some fun recipes included , to use your final product. But a few things for awareness, this kit was created in Scotland so the use of goats milk and unhomogonized cow's milk might be a reach for some in the US. For the cows milk homogonized whole fat milk can always be substituted and is stated as such in the recipes. The outside of the box states " stored in your cupboard this kit will last absolutely ages ......". However, the rennet needs to be stored in the freezer, and dries spices do not last forever ( quality/taste).There is also a best before date for dried ingredients. So I wouldn't sit on the kit. If it's a gift don't buy it too far ahead of time. Also the rennet is in tablet form and some of the recipes call for 1/4, so a pill splitter might come in handy. Or you need a really sharp knife. It seems to include most of what you need except a stock pot and the dairy of course. I am happy I bought and and would definitely buy again as a gift! I do think it was a wee bit pricey, but convenient to get all the ingredients.

I like this kit. It comes with all the dry ingredients and some of the kitchen stuff I need to make soft cheeses. the ingredients should last me for while. Beginner friendly The recipes are great and easy to follow. The cheese I make taste good and can be different than whats available locally. My only complaint is spices are optional and I don't know how much to put.

My husband and I love cheese. Most of our grocery bill is cheese - local, gourmet, deli etc. We have talked about trying to make our own for a while but never got around to it until we bought this. We've already made the Mozzarella and it came out amazing. This is a great kit to get a start on making cheese. We plan to work our way through the book and then see how much further we can take our cheese making. This kit comes with everything you need to make cheese except the milk. The book is clear, but I would have preferred more pictures. You defintely have to read the whole recipe before starting since some of it doesn't make sense until you've gotten to the next step. The included thermometer is decent quality, we do plan on upgrading to one that clips onto the pot, but for now this one serves its purpose.

This is brilliant! I like to bake bread and I thought this might be fun in the same way and it's so much more. It's so easy to get to the stage of separating the curds and whey and there are lots of options from there. I like that the kit has all the essential pieces of equipment and ingredients that you need so I don't have to buy them individually and you can use them many times. The cheeses are really tasty, and it makes my kitchen smell really good too. Making cheese is surprisingly quick, I'll be practicing this over and over.
