How do the bracelets stay closed when you wear them?

Just as any ... you get the proper link you want then tie them on link it together. Depending on if you want to wear it and never take it off or if you want it to be removable. ... my daughter made these for her girl scout troop and they loved them. It comes with instructions on how to do everything as well

Can the instructions be followed by a child that does not speak English?

The bracelet instructions are written in English, but there are step by step pictures which are numbered. My 8 y/o grand-dtr needed my help to make most of the bracelets and could not make them on her own. It's important to consider any child's age and adult supports before giving them this kit.

How long would it take an adult to make a bracelet? I'm considering this for a "party" activity

It would depend on the bracelet that you picked. Some can be completed in 15 minutes some could take as long as an hour. Also, i think it depends on your familiarity with friendship bracelets- I did this as a 4-H activity and the girls who had done them before could accomplish a bracelet faster than those who hadn't

What are the dimensions of the book? I need to be able to mail this overseas in a 5x8 envelope.

9.5 by 8.5 inches. My grand-dtr and I enjoyed making these bracelets together. But the book will not fit in the envelope you must use.

... But needs an update. Will teach your kid how to do very nice bracelets, but the book and graphics need a refresh to look like they are from this century.
