Thule 9046 T2 Classic 2 Bike Rack for 2-Inch Receivers

This product works great. I have a 916XTR (nown known as the "T2 Original Bike Rack") which this rack slides in to. The rack was easy to build as I had experience building the 916XTR a couple of years ago. The bicycles are easy to load and secure. They are also easy to remove. The 916XTR is designed to tilt down to allow the rear hatch of the vehicle to open without hitting the bicycles. With the add on it still does that but with 4 bikes loaded on it takes a bit of work to raise the bikes back up. I have mostly avoided this by planning to have everything in the vehicle before loading the bicycles. I've gone on a few trips my longest being over 200 miles each way. The bikes were unharmed, and stayed put each time.Another thing to consider is locks. The 916XTR came with 3 lock cores. Once to lock the hitch to the vehicle, and one for each of the two bikes. When adding the +2, I didn't want to carry 2 keys. I ordered a 4 pack of locks thinking I'd need them for the 4 bikes, and having forgotten that there's a lock for the vehicle. So I still have 2 keys, but once the rack is on the car I don't need it again until I remove the rack. I can lock and unlock all 4 bikes with just the one key. If you want to learn from my mistake, either buy 6 locks (they come in even numbers), or order locks using the key code directly from Thule.

It works fine but I wish it had the cable locks and lock cores included. Everything else is fine. Quality piece.

Works on my Thule T2 Classic as expected. Remember this will add a lot of tongue weight; make sure that your hitch is rated for this additional weight.Removal is pretty straight forward as is install.This is one of the few products I'd say look for used or Amazon Warehouse deal; its expensive but well worth the investment if you need to haul 4 bikes. Remove the extra extension when not in use to reduce weight (did I mention how heavy this makes it? pain to move around the house!)

Arrived in a damaged box that looked like it had traveled the world 20 times. Clearly repackaged, can see old shipping labels. Missing parts (looks like parts bag retaped with someone’s home tape— missing stuff). Scuffed up/damaged pieces. Returned immediately.

I was so excited for this new bike rack and for the first 6 months it was great. Then the locks became hard to turn and got stuck no matter how much you lubed them up. I now have a key broken in one. The clips to hold the bike tires on have broken. One of the worst purchases I have made.

I realized that it does not come with locks for extension, solved problem by making 4 tough locks. Purchased on Amazon a set of McGard wheel locks M12 x 1.75, #24160, buy a hardened M12 threaded rod at hardware store, cut 2 pieces of 2 & 1/2 inches long, crazy glue both pieces into one lock lug each, tighten them down in both holes for bolts it came with on extension rack insert end after inserting. The other lock for hitch can be made easy, cut a piece of the rod 5 & 1/2 inches long, put crazy glue on one end, thread rod into hitch till it is through to other side, then all you have to do is tread last lock lug, tighten all four lugs. I do mine without washers, check it by trying to dismantle with vice grip pliers, if it holds, it is done. Even if someone breaks the lug off with a sledge hammer, the threads will still stop thieves unless they carry tools to try to get it out or they stick around. It should cost around 40.00$

You can carry four bikes now! It's really fun to have the shuttle rig, or at least it was before the pandemic. This thing is just so enormous. When standing up it is taller than our car. When laying down, it turns our Subaru Crosstrek the length of a pickup truck.Taking it off and storing it is no easy task as it's extremely heavy and awkward to carry.I'm envious of friends with the more stacked models like OneUp, but Thule has a lifetime warranty so I will probably have this thing forever.

Looks like the very solid products little bit too expensive other way is good .Was easy to assemble for me I don’t know others people

Me gusto, cumplió mis expectativas, fácil de ensamblar y de estructura sólida, igualmente fácil la forma de poner y asegurar las bicicletas. Yo compré unos candados Thule, se venden aparte, para dificultar que se puedan llevar las bicicletas. Para algunas personas puede resultar pesado instalar e desinstalar y para inclinar el Rack con Add on se requiere de 2 personas

I purchased this rack assuming it's the standalone rack as mentioned in the title. However I received the add-on. Extremely disappointed as we are leaving on a trip in 1 week and I need to return it. There is no way to contact customer service to get replacement. There is only option for return.

Es la extensión del rack original. SI no lo tienen no se puede instalar. Como extensión muy útil u buena.
