S.O.L. Survive Outdoors Longer Pocket Survival Pak Plus

I've wanted this kit for quite a while. It arrived today. It's a great idea that falls short in a few major ways:1. It expired in LESS than a year - I assume that means the water purification tabs and the batteries.2. I couldn't find info anywhere in the paperwork on what kind of batteries the little light used, so I made the mistake of taking them out - I'll tell you this, I would not want to have to replace them in an emergency situation - it took me about 10 minutes to do it, and they are LR41s BTW, so you don't have to go through that, and neg. sides up, it takes 4 of them. Found them for $5.99 for 20.3. I like that knife a lot, and it was sharp, unlike the Phoenix knife that came dull, but I'd put a rawhide around my nexk rather than that ball and chain.4. So you know, the water purification tabs take 4 hours to work.5. Everything is super crammed in and hard to put back, sort of feels like a one-time use kind because of that.But, if you buy some extra batteries and keep them with the kit, with instructions which way they go, would be a helpful light. The knife is small and useful. It's great they added water purification tabs and the litre bag. The sparker and tinder are good and at least you'd have a chance to make it out there. I'd carry the .5 medical kit and a heatsheets blanket for 2 also, maybe a pouch of water too to feel safer. Dang, I just wish they'd made it a bit bigger so you could comfortable get at stuff. I'll carry it though. It's at least the good Fox 40 whistle.

Good quality components and a complete set of survival gear. You can keep it nearby with the stock kit, or easily add to it, remove things, or swap out upgrades. I traded the sparker for a Bic Mini (which functions the same as the sparker when it runs out of fuel). I also put in a better button compass and upgraded the cordage. Some mini tweezers fit right in the fishing kit with other pointy metal parts.It’s not what you’d want for a camping trip, but you’d be much better off if you got stuck outside or lost your campsite and your main gear.The knife is a bit of a gimmick… you want a better knife. But a tiny tough blade is better than no blade at all.The pouch is great. Durable, and easier to hide in your clothes than a rigid altoids tin (or similar). It’s smooth and disappears in a pocket. …maybe not the front pocket of your jeans, but the back pocket, a jacket pocket, or cargo pocket.

I HIGHLY Recommend this product or even the non-plus version for your kids! This is the most complete, top of the line pre-made survival kit on the market today. This kit includes the 10 C's of Survival which is a necessity in any survival situation. The high quality of the products inside the kit means that they will not fail on you when you need them the most and will always be available to help you survive. You may want to replace the cordage with #36 tarred bankline but other then that, the only changes or additions will be what you personally need. This is a solid "base" kit so get yourself one now and you will not have any regrets!

This is a nice condensed pocket survival kit. The waterproof bag could be a little bigger to hold everything. Once you take everything out its somewhat difficult to fit it all back in. It has small versions of many of the items that are recommended to carry in case of emergencies but it should be your only items - just quick access items to get you started.

Excellent expanded version of the basic PSP. By adding the tiny flashlight and knife, the pack is now much more of a true self-contained option that you can throw into the glove compartment or spare-tire area of your car, and pull out for use in an emergency with 'one of everything' inside. The basic kit assumed that you had a (much better) light and knife on-hand, which was great unless you didn't. While knife and light are truly minimalist, they're far better than having nothing in those categories when you really need them.

Of course you hope never to need it, but top quality contents. Strong/ergonomic knife, useful selection otherwise. Clear instructions. Nice case. Pocket compact. Supplement with an emergency blanket, food, and common sense. Nicer kit vs most i've seen. Wish priced a bit lower, but you'd had trouble assembling your own of same quality. Use a tweezer to deal with tiny flashlight batteries

Excellent EDC pre-built survival kit.Item quality is high and it is all extremely well packed. If you want a light, pocketable kit that you can keep in a coat pocket or something to supplement your EDC bag, this is a very good choice.

Good pocket kit for survival. Should carry in car and on person when hiking, camping.

Well thought out and designed kit. Small enough to fit in a pocket and light enough you'll wanna carry it. Added a few small items and now its the best pocket survival kit I've ever carried.
