Works, squeals, too small.
Uses suction to drive a wheel that in turn drives a couple of gears and a belt that drives the brush. It works. It squeals a horrible squeal. It is too small to vacuum anything large. Best for stairs or under the bed.

Effective, but design flaws
I've used this particular model of paw for a couple of years. It's effective at removing pet hair from furniture and other special uses. Here's the problem with this particular unit, as well as most of the other, similar units on the market - they're somewhat disposable. I've looked for one that can be disassembled and cleaned, but haven't found one yet. Nor have I found one that has bearings for the main shaft. Instead, the metal shaft spins within a plastic housing - no bearings, no bushings, just metal against plastic. Over time, the plastic deteriorates.Reading reviews for this, and other products in this general product category shows a consistent problem that everyone seems to experience. Here's what you're likely to experience with this, or any of these "paws":1) Suction from the vacuum generates the airflow which powers the rotating brush. This creates significant noise.2) The rotating brush and pneumatic drive components will collect dirt and hair over time because it all passes through the unit. Some of the debris can be cleaned out, but the portion that can't will reduce the performance of the paw. The moving parts will spin less freely because of the added friction caused by the dirt buildup and hair wrapped around the components.3) As the metal shaft spins within the plastic housing, deformation occurs, causing even more friction.4) Eventually, the friction becomes so great that the brush no longer spins, rendering the paw useless. This concludes the lifecycle of the product. I wish these could be disassembled for cleaning. I wish they had bearings. Thankfully, they're not very expensive. After reading reviews for various products in the category, it appears the Dyson-brand components may have better designs, but I think they only fit Dyson-brand vacuums.

Animal dander
With four birds, dog, cat, snake and a couple of turtles in the house. We are constantly swiping the floor. This product makes it a lot easier to get the bird dander and dog hair up from the carpet. Would definitely purchase from the seller again. Great product as described.

Inefficient Ineffective
I bought this last year and finally decided to review it. It is too small for general use and never lived up to expectations. It does have the capability to be opened and cleaned, but it still became totally useless: the brush quit rotating. The tiny belt that is supposed to rotate the brush is poorly engineered; it clogs easily and must be closely monitored and cleaned. It took forever to clean my carpet runners and stairs (dog hair - long and very fine). It was more effective and efficient to take my dogs "slicker brush to remove hair, then vacuum with another (larger) head. This is a waste of money. I should have returned it, but a protracted illness intervened.

Expensive but the only true replacement for the powerhead.
Expensive but the only true replacement for the powerhead. That other cheap one sold on amazon, that eureka recomments, is a joke. this is the real deal.
