This is a great clock. It comes in a big box, snugly nestled in foam. It doesn't come with instructions on battery installation, but opening the clock and popping in some batteries is a simple undertaking. There are hanging brackets on the back of the hook part that don't jut out too far, and I messed up my little phillip's-head screwdriver trying to get them off of there since I wasn't going to be mounting the hook from nails or screws - I wanted to use Command strips. So the brackets stayed where they were. The clock and hook have got some weight to them - nothing feels cheap here. I stuck the hook onto my wall with 4 heavy duty Command strips, and it looks great! The faces can catch some glare depending on how you position it, but that's not a huge problem for me. At first I was worried about seeing IIII instead of IV for the Roman numeral 4, but with some research I found that IIII is preferred because the Romans were scared of displeasing Jupiter somehow? Fun stuff. Anywho, Get this clock. It is just as nice as you think.

Excellent construction, easy to install. Draws compliments often in our kitchen. Good value

There were no instructions on how to open the clock to insert batteries. You will see a hinge on top, I basically hugged the clock and gently worked my fingernails down and around the brass edge toward the bottom of the clock to get it to open. It is held closed by two small magnetic posts in the bottom of clock. Not exactly simple but it will open.

It arrived on time and was easy to setup so far loving it. Everyone has been giving us compliments on how awesome the clock looks

Received our clock yesterday, and it looks absolutely gorgeous. There were no instructions included but seeing the hinge on upper side, I was able to figure out how to split it open and install batteries. The second hand moves in a sweeping continuous motion like automatic mechanical watches and the clock doesn't have a ticking sound.

Good value for money

I find it somewhat difficult to read, because of the glass on the clock face. But very pretty! Seems there is always a glare bouncing and reflecting. Therefore, a little disappointed.
