Simple, cheap, works.
I have a post 1997 Mossberg 500 12 gauge that I bought this to replace the weaver top rail that was on it and it fit just fine. I was hesitant about buying this at first because of some of the issues other people had with it not fitting on their shotguns or the screws not being the right size. However, I'm glad I did because it fit just fine and the screws were the right size and the price was right. I suspect that the people who are buying this and having issues have pre 1997 Mossberg shotguns as the screw holes on top of the receiver are slightly different than post 1997 ones. The rail gives plenty of real estate as it goes flush up the the end of the receiver. Everything lined up and the supplied screws were the right size, thread, and length. The supplied screws were hex head, which makes installation and torque much easier than tradition flat head screws, plus there were two extra in case you needed them. The rail is machined aluminum, black oxided. It is sturdy but light and it pretty low profile. There were no blemishes or machining marks I could see. The bottom is rounded but it helps it fit the top of the receiver as the rail is wider than the top flat rail section.

Fits well, looks good, easy installation.
I have a Mossberg 500 Tactical Persuader that I bought about two months ago, and now I am looking to give it that tactical look. This rail seems to be of good quality, definitely not plastic, not sure what kind of metal but it seems pretty sturdy. I read some reviews about the attachment screws being too big or long or whatever. Not the case for me. You just need a small flathead screwdriver to remove the screws that come with the shotgun, and replace them with the Allen head screws that come with this rail. Very simple switch and even though I don't have any optics on hand to attach(yet), it adds a nice tacticle look to the gun. I would recommend this to anybody out there not sure which rails may fit/be of quality. I am a critical guy and don't like buying cheap stuff, so I felt like I was taking a chance on buying this rail at a low price. I am pleased with the product. Just the first step on my journey to beefing up this gun! Hope this helps...

Mossberg 590, .410 receiver: GTG
This fit perfectly on my 410. The screws went in with no issues (you will need a very small screwdriver to get out Mossberg’s screws). The action worked fine with all the screws tightened down. The screws do not need to be shortened.

Does the job. The UTG Pro model may be better option. No idea if it has short front screws.
I don't know if this sits higher than the UTG Mossberg Pro model that costs twice as much. The Pro model has the markings on the top of the rail and a beveled 45 degree angle on the rear of the top of the scope base, perhaps to prevent scope mount bite? It looks nicer than this model. Like others, I had to grind down the two front screws. It was a bit tedious. I should have probably used the split washer fix instead of grinding, screwing them in, removing again, then repeating until both were flush. The sides of the mount do not make contact with the receiver. There is no wobble however. Blue locktited screws. I use red locktight under the base, after I tape around the base, just so I have something filling in the gaps between receiver and bottom of base. It seems secure. I do see a small gouge in my receiver near the screws. I have no idea what caused that. Doesn't do anything with function and cycling. Try the split washer trick instead of grinding or filing down the two front screws. If they are small enough to fit in the recessed holes of the base, you can use that slot above the screw hole.

Hey for 8.99
Man, there are few items for your shotgun you can get for this amount and not be plastic or only half of what you need to install correctly. This item is well packaged with spare screws, very well constructed aluminum rail and tools to install. One of the best purchases i've made this year. I say this because i have purchase a lot of accessories for my shotguns and rifles to update and in some cases turn into tactical ATI set ups. Many times these mods are missing some of the items to complete the change. Now you have to order, wait to complete the project. It was a nice surprise to see they included not only the rail but all replacement items including heavy duty screws, wrench to install and nice quality parts. Well done and half the price of the same components from Mossberg.

Perfect fit and excellent quality
I have a 20-gauge Mossberg 500 Bantam Turkey for my daughter and I got this rail for it to mount a red dot for turkey hunting.Even though the shotgun has a camo finish, the rail looks like it belongs there. The fit is absolutely perfect and I can't believe the quality for the price I paid here on Amazon. The rail seems as solid as I could ever want, so I suspect this will be a lifetime marriage with that gun.The install was extremely easy as well. The four screws in the receiver came out far more easily than I would have thought and then I screwed down the rail with the provided hex screws and a bit of blue Locktite just to be safe. The packaging for the rail came with six hex screws and a hex wrench, so I guess I'll have a couple of extra screws if I ever need them. This rail seems to be the same quality in every way as similar rails that I have bought for 5-10x more money. If you're looking for a rail for any compatible pre-tapped Mossberg shotgun, both 12 and 20 gauge, then I highly recommend going with one of these.

Vis trop grosses pour Mossberg 500
Le rail semble correct, mais impossible a installer sur mon Mossberg 500, les vis sont trop grosses. Et impossible de joindre le vendeur.
