Will this filter fit the whirlpool whole home filtration system you purchase at Lowes?

It looks like there are several types of whirlpool systems sold at Lowes - some (such as 84219910) appear to use standard 10" filter sizes and this should fit inside of those. Other models appear to take specialty or big blue sized filter cartridges.

Where is the difference between gac-10 and cc-10? which is better?

The GAC-10 is a coal based filter & the CC-10 is a coconut based filter. We feel the GAC is a better filter.

how often should these filters be replaced

These are rated at 5000 gallons. Most manufacturers recommend replacing at six months, but based on use, you may be able to get a year or more of service out of it. When your water begins to taste the same as it does from unfiltered faucets, or if water flow slows noticeably, then it might be time to replace the filter.
