โThe first volume in the 100 Deadly Skills series delivered clandestine hacks designed to allow readers to escape and evade threats at home and abroad. The second book, my Survival Edition , provided a blueprint to surviving chaos, misadventures, and fatal disasters. Now, with the Combat Edition , Iโve created the most comprehensive on-the-ground combatives manual ever assembledโtraveling the country to learn the most effective combat techniques from some of the deadliest characters on Earth. The goal remains the same: allowing good people to defeat evil, fight for their lives, and survive another day.โ โ Clint Emerson Created by a retired Navy SEAL, this illustrated combat manual presents one hundred skills harvested from the world of special operations, outlaw bikers, lifelong martial artists, and professional fighters. Drawing on the unique skill sets of a carefully selected cadre of experts, each technique is carefully broken down to its component parts in order to radically improve your chances of coming out on topโwhether youโre faced by an active shooter or coming toe to toe with a belligerent prick. Throughout, embedded step-by-step video content enables you to visualize the skills and practice them in real-time. These hundred deadly skills, which all rely on no-nonsense combative techniques, include: Weaponizing your non-violent posture Delivering damaging body strikes Accurately throwing a knife Quick drawing and shooting a handgun Tactically deceiving your enemy Surviving a multi-threat ambush Understanding non-lethal and lethal options Clint Emerson , retired Navy SEAL, spent twenty years conducting special ops all over the world while attached to SEAL Team Three, the National Security Agency (NSA), and a Special Mission Unit. Tom Mandrake has created and illustrated books, comics and graphic novels for over 40 years. Some of the titles he has worked on include Batman, The Spectre, The Martian Manhunter, The Punisher, The New Mutants, The X-Files, Creeps, To Hell You Ride and Kros: Hallowed Ground. H. Keith Melton, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, is an intelligence historian and a specialist in clandestine technology, espionage, and tradecraft. Melton is the author of many spy books. Review: One of the best books ever written on practical intense street Combatives and self-defense. - As someone who has had a continuous passion for numerous martial arts, Combatives and self-defense systems (Judo, Jujitsu, Karate-Do, Boxing, MMA, Krav Maga, American Combatives, Target Focus Training, Knife, gun, and stick fighting systems) for more than 7 decades I cannot pass up any opportunity to increase my knowledge in these areas. Even though I am well into my senior years and have numerous health and medical issues; nevertheless, I am always interested in new books and material by experts in combat and survival. When I read a review of this book (100 Deadly Skills: Combat edition: A Navy SEALโS guide to crushing your enemy, fighting for your life, and embracing your inner badass by Clint Emerson) in a gun magazine I knew I had to have it. I am familiar with several of Emersonโs books which I have loved reading. In my opinion, this fantastic volume is absolutely fantastic and the best practical Combatives recently published today. This book does not waste time with B.S. but moves quickly into the practical and realistic techniques and tactics need to win in physical street combat. This is not a sport approach manual but focuses clearly on pure realistic martial arts and street combative techniques and tactics. Each part is presented by a Combatives expert and a real bad guy illustrating the lesson being taught. You will learn the Tony Blauerโs Spear technique, Tony Jeffries power punching techniques, Marcus Torgersenโs Krav Maga methods, Stephen Hayโs Ninja system to deal with thugs, and numerous other essential skills to deal with the deranged thugs and lunatics in our world. There are 16 parts in this book and the drawings are clear (I have always loved drawing illustrations better than regular photographs) and they make the book come alive. In my opinion, if you could only keep one book in your own self-defense Combatives library THIS IS THE REFERENCE BOOK you would want to own and refer to often. This book is a keeper; however, keep in mind that in order to master these techniques requires that you practice them. Further, as I always emphasize in any martial art, self-defense or Combative manual, nothing can take the place of an instructor to teach you the finer points of any martial art or Combative system to go along with reading the book. Nevertheless, this is one of the best books I have ever read to learn the basic essential principles of numerous fighting systems to use on the street. Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Tactical Principles of the most effective Combative Systems). Review: More Than A Book - This is a entire trainig program with 100 freaking videos! - I have bought the other 100 Deadly Skills books and love them. They are entertaining, educational, and at times hysterical. This book is all that and so much more. Not only did the author travel the county to learn from the most badass fighters on the planet... he freaking filmed all the instruction they taught him and you have direct access to it in the book. You just hover your smartphone over the QR code and BOOM - Clint is on your phone with these warrior legends teaching you how to do some of the coolest most useful self-defense skills on the planet. As soon as it arrived today I thumbed through cover to cover and found a skill called SPEAR to block a strike. I read the section then scanned the video and watched it with my daughter. Within a few mins of sparing she had it down and was blocking simulated blows - "Dad! Let's learn another one!" Now on to the Chin Jab.... Best 25 bucks I've spent in a long time.

Embedded videos for make this book even better
This is the third book in Clintโs series and it is every bit as good as the others. I was super excited because I love books with embedded videos. I hope the author continues this series forever. Edit: scanning the QR code on the iPhone is a bit tricky but I figured it out though itโs a bit annoying. 1. Download QR Scanner from App Store 2. Take a picture of the QR code and save it to photos. 3. Open the QR reader and go to photos and click on the photo. Youโll have to do this for each code. Perhaps the e-book can be edited so that there are links to click in the e-book instead of QR codes? There might be an easier way to do it but I havenโt figured that out yet.

Unbelievably huge value for the price
When I bought this book, I thought it was just 100 different martial art skills that would be conveyed to me the reader by written verbiage and possibly some illustrations or photos. HOWEVER, it turns out that each skill has a QR code that you can scan to instantly access an informative video showing that particular skill in action and how to perform it. I was totally surprised by this, and it puts the value of this book way over the amount I paid for it. HIGHLY recommended.

Combat Edition The Best Edition So Far!!
Clint chose a well rounded group of experts respected in their respective fields of combat related disciplines. I truly enjoyed this book and the techniques that it imparts. The live action video interaction is truly unique and very helpful to give the reader a clear understanding of the technique being taught. As always Clint brings his own brand of humor and wit to the table and makes a very enjoyable and entertaining experience. I do look forward to the hard copy of the book, which I will be getting as soon as it comes out! I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in adding techniques to their tool box and getting a better insight to other approaches to combat. Thank you Clint, for another winning book!!

Get a copy before some takes your choice robot read it!!
A good read! had a chuckle at the art work and text! bad guys lol . Art work fits with the texts, simple to follow, has an old comic book feel (not into poetry sorry). Useful info for many situations to bring people up to speed who don't fancy doing martial arts in a mask 2 meters apart. A few chapters are distinctly American EDC , etc In the UK I have a kitchen knife taped to a broom stick for an Automatic Rifle substitute. So good to go against all manor of #hastagers. Enjoy
