Take my advice and spend the extra few dollars and get better quality snips. I bought these because they were 12 to a pack and the price was right. But when they came I understood why they are practically giving these away - horrible quality. I'm not talking about the oil on the snips like others noted ( I expected it as it was in the product description) but the blades on half of them were bent so badly that you can't even close them! They cut nothing. Out of the second half that would close, 3 had blades that were so far apart that they did nothing as well. Please, I implore you do not buy these.

Wonderful snips in a variety of colors as pictured. I received red, blue, and black handled snips. Santa slipped these into Christmas stockings this year, and there were some left over for the crafty person in the house! Everyone was happy to receive them as they are great for fly tying, sewing tread, fishing line, yarn, and more. They do have a light oil on them to prohibit rusting, I assume. Nothing a paper towel couldn't take care of. They are sharp and work great!

I bought these to use in my classroom Apparel Classes and they did not last very long. The blades were hard to keep together while snipping.Would not recommend.

I would have given these scissors five stars but they did come with a lot of oil on them. Which was not expected but understood. Scissors need oil to work. After you wipe the oil off, especially if you are cutting cloth or yarn the scissors are really good. Great amount of scissors for the price. I was always loosing my scissors and these are great. I can stash a pair hear and there and always have a pair of scissors at hands reach. Do not pass this deal up. Especially if you misplace your scissors a lot like I do.

I use these scissors for times when I need small snips and cuts. My daughter hates tags, so I use these scissors so that they don't damage the clothes. I also use these scissors to trim my eyebrows and they work better than scissors that are made for eyebrows. They are just so handy. I love it

Purchase these to give as free gift for my sewing students. The cutter work wonderful. The only issue is they have to be cleaned before using on fabric as they are a little oily and can transfer that oil to the fabric. Other than that they are a wonderful gift and I will continue to purchase these at a discounted price at a gift for my students. They love getting this little gift to add to their sewing kit.

This time I bought the multi-colored ones, while I had bought the "gold" looking ones before. The other one work a lot better. In fact I keep reaching for those instead. The precision is just not as good. Had I not had the others before I might have never noticed but it is a bit annoying when they just don't cut as good.

I used to have a pair of thread snips like this, but with plastic handles. When I saw this set, for this low price, I had to get it. The quality is decent, but not really good. For the price, these are an excellent value. They cut really well, and I have even cut some plastics and paper goods with them.
