This sturdy, but lightweight, non-conductive fiberglass wand extends to 8.5 ft. and allows you to reach to 2nd and 3rd story eaves and soffits. Being closer to the target improves aim which means getting the job done faster. Better precision also means fewer repeats which saves your pocketbook on having to buy additional products. Since safety is important to us, Wasp Wand was designed to extend to higher places without needing to climb up dangerous or wobbly ladders on sometimes uneven ground. The long reach of Wasp Wand also protects users from inhaling accidental blow back since the spray is farther away.According to WEBMD, bee, wasp and hornet stings account for more deaths than any other animal and bee stings are the largest killer of humans in the U.S. Additionally, there are over 200,000 ladder accidents and toxin related emergency room visits each year- many of which can be attributed to stinging insect removal. When trying to protect you and your family from flying, stinging insects, sprays and foams are a good solution, but how to apply them safely is another issue. Ladders can be wobbly on uneven ground and there is always the risk of inhaling the toxic fumes with accidental blow back.WASP WAND is the innovative new product that was developed to make this task safer and easier. WASP WAND is an aerosol can extension wand that allows the user a safe distance while being able to apply insecticides to the specific target for maximum results.Made of durable, dent resistant and lightweight non-conductive recycled ABS plastic and fiberglass, WASP WAND extends 8.5ft to allow greater distance between you and your target. The adjustable fitting accommodates most insecticides (spray and foam), even the larger bonus cans. Triggering the actuator with 3-4lbs of finger pressure dispenses 9-12 lbs of nozzle pressure making for a strong delivery. Increasing the safety distance also protects you from inhaling accidental blow back and gives you more reaction time.

Great tool for getting close
This is something I really needed. The eves on my two story house are over 18' up, and in the past going after wasp nests meant climbing a ladder coupled with a dangerous retreat after spraying. I hate these vermin. Several years back a red wasp sting sent me to the ER in anaphylactic shock followed by over fours years of immunotherapy shots at my allergist. So, although I may now have some immunity I want them ALL GONE. I have already eradicated several nests with this device. Here are my thoughts based on my experience. I am over 6' and this allows an extension of another 8' foot or so. That gets me plenty close even in most situations. Try to use a full can of spray for maximum pressure and distance. Also note that the longer you spray the more blow back you get with the wasp poison falling on you. Wind direction also plays a factor here. I wear a face shield and cover up. When done, I change clothes and shower just to make sure. Some of the spray may coat the poles so you will want to wipe that off also. You might also want to wear a respirator just to be extra cautious. Regardless follow the precautions on the can or hire a professional if you prefer. That said, this pole has been a great addition to my anti-wasp arsenal.

Works great after modification
I bought this wand mainly to use pruning seal on some damaged branches of a tree. I thought it might also be useful to touch up some areas with a spray paint can. When I received it I realized that it is only designed for bee spray that comes in large spray cans. I had hoped it would be more adjustable than it was. The instruction sheet was poor but I assembled it on my own. Not that difficult. My modification worked great for smaller spray cans. I made trip to Home Depot and bought a 3/8th inch eyelet bolt with nut (1/2 inch might work too). Make sure you get a 5-6 inch length. Longer is ok too. I then removed the plastic adjustable bolt that came with the wand and inserted the eyelet bolt., The nut must be inside the track to hold the bolt in place. After placing a can of pruning spray inside the track I tightened the bolt and nut until it pressed firmly against the bottom of the can. I had no trouble at all after that and the wand is much more versatile now.

Much better than using a ladder!
Had a large wasp nest in a second story eave, and even the best wasp spray cans couldn't quite reach it, about 4-5 feet shy. I thought of using a ladder, but images of wasps coming after me in retaliation causing me to fall, and going to the ER with a broken leg and hundreds of stings was not appealing. Still, they had to go, so in true infomercial style I thought, "there must be a better way!". And there was. I finally found this after changing up some search terms and couldn't be happier. I mean, on one hand, it's yet another tool I have to keep track of, but it made what was going to be a difficult and unsafe job into one that was pretty painless. This little device is easy to set up - instructions were mostly pretty clear, and really the contraption makes sense. You fit the canister of spray (Spectricide brand worked fine for me) inside an indentation for the can's lip, and then tighten a bottom piece to keep it stable. The rope pulls a lever that then sprays the can. Once assembled, I was wasp free within just a minute. Extended the pole, shook the can up really well, put it inside the contraption, and then it was just point and shoot. At any rate, highly recommended, and if you own a multi-story house or building you'll eventually need one of these. Don't risk your life with ladders. My only wish is that they sold a version that threads onto an existing pole, as I already have a few, and this is yet another to keep up with. Still, happy I have it now for when the same problem will come back next summer.

Die Wasps Die!
Great Tool! I have a 2 story house and saw up in the leeward eave that I was getting a hornet/wasp nest bigger than my hand. Couldn't reach it with my 6 ft ladder and 27' spray. The Wand took 2 minutes to assemble. The turn screw lets you crank the bottom of the spray can up to the lever which 1) orients the can correctly and 2) activates the spray switch. After 1 can popped out I made sure to line up the top lip of the metal part of the spray can with the small plastic overhang, that kept it from moving.I found nests up in the eaves over my garage. Although I couldn't do it from the ladder, this made it getting on the roof and killing them was easy. Lot cheaper than getting a longer ladder, or calling an exterminator.

Good product, bad instructions.
I ordered the Wasp Wand to kill wasps that were making camp in the overhang on our roof. After doing some research step ladders aren't recommended as it both puts you too close to the wasps (increases stinging risk) and there is a risk that if you get stung you could fall. The Wasp Wand is not a complex product, however some assembly is required. The instructions are terrible/useless, and instead I used the product images on Amazon to construct it (get things facing the right direction, etc). One piece of advice: Make sure you extend the pole fully BEFORE attaching the spray. If you attach the spray and then extend, the string could (and does, often) because taut while extending which may cause an accidental discharge. Also for that reason always consider where the spray is pointing.Overall a simple product that "just works." You will get poison down the string line and around the top of the product after usage, so I recommend cleaning it a little before putting it into storage.

Worked Much Better Than I Expected
Read the reviews on this thing but always am skeptical. This thing however worked just as advertised. Even after opening the package I was skeptical! Once you get it all set up however, which doesn't take long even for an idiot on putting things together, it worked like clockwork. It takes your spray can up high to the evil wasps!! Highly Recommend.
