Since starting spyderco we've been told our knives are different, peculiar, even out there. All true. Thinking beyond established knife industry barriers allowed us to introduce new and radical innovations to the knife culture including: one-hand opening, serrations on a folder and a clip to attach a knife to a pocket. We didn't go into business to rake in a Mountain of dough we're here for more selfish reasons- indulging our passion for creating knives. Spyderco is definitely out of the norm in the knife industry in our dedication to researching and developing fresh, improved and better performing materials all with function and reliability being key. Someone once said to Sal Glesser, Spyderco's owner, you must design in the dark because your knives look so strange. True again. Our recognizable appearance is a result of designing ergonomic functional tools rather than applying Lipstick and nylons to a pocketknife. We may look curious, homely, whatever, but We'll never be called unusable or undependable. Making knives that consistently deliver reliable high-performance requires an ongoing commitment to testing. In our million-dollar testing facility we examine edge retention with a catra machine, look for rust development with q-fog, check the force needed to open and close a knife. We also repeatedly test for stress, wear, optimal heat-treating and actively search for higher quality, performance Enhancing steels and materials. As a customer you probably don't think about this, or much care, but it allows us to put forth a promise. When you purchase a spyderco you are buying a high-quality reliable cutting tool designed and manufactured for peak performance and ergonomic comfort. Those who know carry spyderco.

Job well done on a goofy looking knife.
My wife bought this to add to her large knife collection. She likes it because of it's unusual shape. She and I both feel spyderco has gone a little crazy with it's pricing. Like may manufacturers of knives today they ask way too much for their products. The fit and finish of this knife is very fine. We have been buying and using spyderco knives since they hit the market and will continue to keep buying from them.

Phenomenal everyday carry knife that stays extremely sharp
The fit and finish of this version (Sprint Run) is a considerable upgrade to the standard Pingo (C163PBK). Additionally the Elmax steel has remained amazingly sharp for the last several months even though it gets daily abuse. I really liked the standard version... but I love the Sprint Run. You will find that the attention to detail and the smoothness of opening the blade of the Sprint Run far surpasses the standard version. Both versions of this knife are extremely light and they are easy to forget that you have them clipped to your pocket and make a great everyday carry.Suffice to say that if I were to accidentally lose this knife that I would replace it with exact same model!

Love the Pingo!
This is a knife designed by Jesper Voxnaes and Jens Anso to meet strict Danish knife laws. It is small but very capable. I loved the version with FRN handles, which is actually a great bargain for the quality of the knife and N690Co steel. This Sypderco sprint run kicks it up a notch with satin polished titanium scales and a premium Elmax blade. It is quite a bit more solid feeling and a little heavier than it's FRN sibling. This has a stiff slip joint with a stop at 90 degrees. The blade is sharp and functional. I love Anso knives, and so it is great to have this one in my EDC rotation.

Fast shipping but the item appears used.
Shipping was extremely fast. However, this knife appears used. I’ve attached photos of the clip side that shows several deep scratches on the clip side scale. It looks as if the knife has previously been carried and has pocket wear. I understand the this is a discontinued model and is hard to find but it was advertised as new. For the price I would expect it to be in much better condition. The blade centering is also very off and heavily favors one side.

Nice knife but overall so-so quality control
What a great looking knife only to be ruined by either poor packaging or by shipping a previously returned knife. The blade grind was also wavy and the blade was not centered in the handle. Bummer because it seems like a nice knife with a good weight to it. Not high enough quality for the cost.

Stans Take
I have 2 Pingos with plastic handles that are great. I returned this model because it felt unbalanced and was more difficult to use. Buy it if you just want to look at it, but if you intend to use it for EDC save your money or buy the Pingo with plastic handles.

Nicely made solid little knife.
Nicely made little knife. Emphasis on the little. I was hoping it would be a little larger than mu Cold Steel Tuff Lite. Instead they are about the same size. Even so I like it a lot. Solidly built. Like the Elmax blade. Takes and holds a keen edge. I am seriously going to buy more Elmax blade knives.
