Rating: 5 SUPER FINE STARS! Awesome novella!
Rating: 5 SUPER FINE STARS! Awesome novella! We met Lana in the Up In The Air Series and R.K. Lilley was wonderful enough to give us a novella dedicated just to her! In Lana, we finally get the full story of her long-lost love Akira. There were several hints left throughout the Up In The Air Series regarding Lana's Hawaiian love, but we never got the full story.Synopsis:Lana has been desperately in love with Akira for as long as she can remember. One amazing night together eight years ago changed everything. She was faced with the fact that her feelings for Akira were not returned so she fled. Lana left her beloved Hawaiian paradise heartbroken and still hopelessly in love with Akira.Eight years later Lana returns to Hawaii for a short business trip. Her plans for a short, brief trip change once she is faced with the man she so desperately desires...Review:This novella is pretty freakin' amazing! Lana is a short, quick read but will leave you fully satisfied. This novella feels more like a condensed novel rather than a short-story. R.K. Lilley is a writing genius because she somehow manages to give you depth and complexity in only 101 pages! I finished this sweet little book in one sitting and found myself scrolling back through my favorite pages even after I was done.I loved that R.K. Lilley gave Lana her own novella. I really liked Lana in the Up In The Air Series and found myself loving her after I read this novella. Lana is fantastic, beautiful, and full of personality. In this novella, you will even get to see a more vulnerable side of her. The hopeless love she has for Akira brings out so many insecurities that she has so desperately tried to avoid for the past eight years.Akira...Oh holy hotness! That Hawaiian man is everything that is desirable and more. You might find yourself thinking about planning a trip to that lovely island paradise in hopes to spot some men that resemble Akira. Seriously ladies, he's pretty amazing in this novella. Akira is a strong, alpha-male type, but you will see a softer side of him that only Lana seems to bring out.Lana will allow you to finally see the back-story between these two and of course, you will gain a better understanding of Akira's true feelings for Lana. (I'm trying not to give any spoilers here)Warning: The chemistry they have together might light your Kindle on fire. For real, they are sizzling hot! Lana and Akira are pretty amazing together and you will find yourself rooting for them the entire way. This novella has it all. Angst, lust, romance, steam, hot-alpha male, and lovable heroine. Another bonus in this novella is that our beloved James, Stephen, & Bianca do make an appearanceLana is a hot, steamy, and wonderful ride that will leave you fully sated and overflowing with satisfaction.A few of my favorite quotes from Lana"This is paradise. You took my paradise with you when you left, Lana" -AkiraI'm just adrift, banned from my home, and utterly rejected by the only man I'll ever love -Lana"Well, you're beautiful, Lana. Painfully so" -Akira"Never. I'd be happy if you wanted anything from me, anything at all. It's always been that way, Akira. You must know that there's nothing I wouldn't do just to make you smile" - LanaIf you haven't read the Up In The Air Series by R.K. Lilley, you should probably get on that straight away!

Up In The Air - Lana Novella
After reading the "Up in the Air" series by R.K. Lilley, I could not wait to learn more about Lana and her one true love Akira who also is the man that broke her heart.Lana is a strong and confident woman who helps run her families hotel business. When her business takes her back to her island home for a few days her one weakness is exposed... Akira. Her childhood was spent shadowing Akira wherever he went. When she finally turned 18 and became a woman the only thing she wanted for her birthday was him. After one night of passion Akira made her feel unwanted.*Lana: "I was just a family friend with an inconvenient infatuation, he'd said."When she returns to the island it takes her all of one day to run into Akira. After having a friendly conversation with his mother and sister, two people that Lana considers family she has a run in with a solid wall of muscle...Akira. As the two jump right back into a push and pull relationship, will Akira finally let Lana know his true feelings, and will Lana ever feel like she is good enough for Akira?*Akira: "You were this perfect, enchantingly beautiful girl that made the world brighter just by being in it, and you were ours. I can't tell you how sorry I am that I drove you away."*Lana: "My mind was reeling. Was he trying to break my heart all over again? He had a knack for finding new and surprising ways to do it. Not only had I been miserable without his love, now I had to feel guilt that he was sad without my friendship."As these two try to reconnect and find a common ground they have many obstacles to face including family and a crazy ex-lover. Overall I rated this book a 3.5. I was excited to see what would happen with Lana and Akira and even more excited to see Bianca, James and Stephen make an appearance in the book. On the other hand with the book being a novella it was short and seemed to jump right back into a relationship that otherwise probably would have taken much more time to rekindle. If you are looking for a short quick read I would highly recommend this as it could be read easily in one sitting. I was excited to get a sneak peak of R.K. Lilley's next book, "Bad Things," that will follow the love story of Danika and Tristan also from the "Up in the Air" series.

So so happy for Lana and Akira....
Lana is a spin-off novella from the Up In The Air series. We first meet Lana in Mile High but see a lot more of her in Grounded. While it would not be required for you to read the Up In The Air series first before reading this book, I would highly recommend it. First, because the Up In The Air series is one of my most favorite series and I tell everyone to read it. Second, because we get to know Lana a little bit in Grounded, which is where I first meet her. That being said this novella can be read on it's own.The first impression that I got of Lana when I first met her in Grounded is totally different from the woman I hang out with in Lana.Or maybe it's more that in Grounded I only saw her being an friend to James and Bianca as where in Lana we get to see her fight for the only man she has ever wanted. That could make anyone a little more bold, or use her Sports Illustrated model body to seduce him. Either way, I see a new side of Lana and I liked it.Oh Lana my friend you are a brave little devil you are. She is not ashamed to use her body just a little bit to get the man she loves to lust after her that is for darn sure. I wanted to tell Lana to be careful but I knew there was no stopping her, she had been wanting this man for the last eight years and now she was in his bed. If anything she just wanted to be able to take a memory away from it all. Something she could hold onto when she had to leave and go back to reality.Akira is an intimidating man and everyone around him knows to respect him. Most are probably afraid of him, but he has always had a soft spot for Lana. She was the annoying younger girl that would follow him around where ever he went. They grew up together, but Lana is not a little girl anymore, and she still wants Akira.

Awful
I have loved many of RK Lilley books. I LOVED James & Biancas trilogy. All I can say if thank heavens this was only a novella. I cannot even say what made me push on through and finish it as I was ready to give up on it a few pages in. Just awful.

My Gawd WOW
Lama lana lana...the innocent, sophicated woman we all read and love in 'up in the air series' is a sex goddess, freaky as he'll behind close doors. It was such a great book to read. Her and Akira was definitely a lovely fit and it was nice to hear their story. All Because of a misunderstanding they were miserable for years. My only fault is I wish it was longer...

Why so short?
The only reason why I'm not giving this 5 stars its because I wish it was a proper book size. The story was fantastic so I don't understand why it wasn't full length. There was definitely enough material there. Worth the buy, and you can read it in a day, so you haven't wasted any time if you don't like it (which I highly doubt). It's worth reading the first three of the series before you read this, as in the end there are characters and spoilers from the previous books.

I want more!
This books is awesome - my only complaint is that the book is too short!I love the characters and also love how the author manages to write stories that are not repetitive or formulaic, creating unique stories within the same series.Lana is bold and fierce and I like that she is different to the other females in the series such as Danika and Bianca.A must read for fans of the in-flight series but not really a standalone novelette.
