I purchased the Sistema KLIP IT Multi-Piece Food Storage Containers with high hopes of finding a reliable solution for storing and organizing my food. However, my experience with these containers has been rather disappointing, and I cannot help but give them a 2-star rating.One of the main features that initially attracted me to these containers was their modular stacking shape, which promised efficient use of space in my fridge, freezer, and pantry. While the containers do stack together neatly, I found that their sizes were not as versatile as I had hoped. The set contains 6 rectangular food containers, including 1 x 2 Litre, 1 x 1 Litre, 2 x 400ml, and 2 x 200ml. However, I quickly discovered that these sizes didn’t suit my needs well, and I often ended up with either unused space or overcrowded containers.Moreover, the lids of these containers are equipped with easy-locking clips and an extended flexible seal, which are supposed to keep food fresher for longer. Unfortunately, I found that the sealing mechanism did not live up to its promise. Even with the clips securely closed, I experienced issues with the containers leaking and not effectively preserving the freshness of my food. This was particularly disappointing, as I had hoped these containers would help me reduce food waste and keep my meals fresher for longer periods.In addition to the sealing problems, the easy-locking clips, which are marketed as a distinctive feature of the Sistema KLIP IT containers, did not function as smoothly as expected. Some of the clips were difficult to close properly, leading to frustration and doubts about their durability over time.While the containers are advertised as dishwasher, microwave (without the lid), fridge, and freezer safe, I found that the lids did not hold up well in the dishwasher. The plastic lids became warped and discolored after just a few washes, which affected their ability to securely seal the containers. This not only compromised their functionality but also raised concerns about the long-term safety of the plastic material.On a positive note, I appreciate that these containers are designed and made in New Zealand, and that they are phthalate and BPA-free, ensuring safer food storage. However, these positive aspects were overshadowed by the issues I encountered with their overall performance and usability.In conclusion, the Sistema KLIP IT Multi-Piece Food Storage Containers did not meet my expectations for efficient food storage and preservation. The issues with their sizing, sealing mechanism, and durability in the dishwasher were significant drawbacks that impacted their functionality and reliability. While they may work for some users, they did not align with my needs and preferences, resulting in a 2-star rating for this product. As a frequent user of food storage containers, I believe there are better options available in the market that offer superior performance and value for money.
