Anime Studio Debut 10

The low price for this is great! My daughter wants to animate things in her free time so we bought her this because it the lowest priced but highest rated item we could locate that did what she was looking for. She is thrilled with it and has learned a lot using it. It is a little intimidating at first especially when given to a first time user (my daughter is 10) but she picked up on how to use it fairly quickly. I highly recommend.

Product is great. Having fun learning it. BUT......it arrived with no serial number so I can't register it and will get LOCKED OUT in 30 days. Hoping to hear from Amazon asap to see if we can rectify this situation.

I am so bad at art that my wife says the only thing I can draw is flies. Thank goodness Anime Studio works even with the worst artist among us. I'm not suggesting that you will be able to put out Disney quality animation the first week you use it but you will find that many of the task associated with animation are much easier with this program. Originally I used an earlier version with just my mouse and keyboard. When I bought version 10 I upgraded to a nice tablet. There is a lot of difference between using the product with just the mouse or using a tablet, and if you don't have one I would suggest buying even a cheap tablet to use with this program. The learning curve is not too steep, especially if you are familiar with basic commands for inexpensive photo software or other entry-level drawing programs. In a way, I think learning this program is like learning to play a musical instrument or even to learn the basics of drawing/animation. Your knowledge married to your practice will begin to show strong advancement in your output will get much better the more you use the product. Price was a consideration for me in this product easily fit within my budget. While there are much more sophisticated products available they are also much higher in price. For that reason I would suggest the casual user or someone on a tight budget consider Anime Studio for their work.

An incredible value as software, for what comes 'in the box' at its $14.00 price. It's a very powerful system for animating or just drawing. Once you get the hang of it, animating is fun and I can't imagine can be made much easier. Some people apparently want to be able to make a cartoon in five or six clicks of a mouse - although it is a probably as close as you can come to it! This software is designed as an intro to creating powerful custom animation.No powerful software comes without a steep learning curve. It does have a 'beginners' mode.' If you want to buy this software and use it be prepared to spend a lot of time and then you will find its value. But:Their support system stinks. Even after registering they won't give me the debugged upgrade to 10.3(or whatever it is and still be 10) - When I click update in their menu they give me window saying..."BUY version 11! - only ----- dollars." That's bizarre - I've never seen a company make just an upgrade of a current version so difficult. Most companies WANT you to have the best possible version of what you paid for. Just getting signed into their support boards and registering the software was huge hassle.Help is limited to online support boards which only have answers to complex esoteric things and are not designed for people starting. Usually you can look on the internet for support for common software, especially games, but this is too esoteric to find little things. You can find videos on it on YouTube.So the company that makes/sells this, Smith Micro... leave a lot to be desired in support. But the software itself is excellent, once you figure out how to use it.

I'm a loooooooooooong time Adobe user who worked on Flash animations for years until it became unfashionable. Thought about a getting something non-adobe to make some simple 2d animations.This software has a terrible UI. The controls are not intuitive. Creating anything other than simple graphics is like a masochistic event. The complexity of the libraries do not appear that they could have been created with this software. They came from something far more featureful which poses a problem working with them in such a cludgy UI.Installing & licensing is also an issue. Maintaining your license on a fresh install OS could mean having to contact their support team to unlock it.Best to save your money on something more user friendly, better support, UI, well....everything. Versions 11, 12 aren't any improvements either.

i want a refund. This software never worked. We've installed and reinstalled it and we still have a black screen. We can't do anything with the screen. I'm well versed in photoshop and was hoping this would be a great way to involve my stepdaughter in photoediting. so disappointed. i've spent way too long looking up support for this black screen situation and i still can't find a fix. the tutorials that are included with the software as well as those on youtube don't even address this. maybe it's just me- and the many other ppl I found online with similar questions- but this product doesn't work. AT ALL. and since we bought the downloaded version, we'll never be able to refund it. $26 gone. absolute garbage.

It is no easy to use. It sound easy to use but it really not at all. But it was a good price. It is outdated they change the name and updated the software. I'm sure it would take no time to learn but it doesn't work like I thought it should.

Well worth the money, speedy delivery, I'm happy.

would have liked a little better guide. not so easy to understand.
