Added Reassurance for Parents of Obnoxious Little Boys
I noticed the two early reviews on this product were made on the same day and were pretty vague for a 5-star review...fishy. Therefore, I'll give you an actual response from a real person who needed this. Our 15-month-old is extremely accident prone. Extremely. We have made two visits to the ER already. Mom had enough and looked up one of these nifty helmets so we don't have to worry about spending the college fund on ER doctors. I'm happy to say this is really well-made and light enough so as not to be obnoxious. It is thoroughly vented and does provide enough cushion to avoid any sharp injury. The only reason for the removal of one "star" is due to the flimsy strap with which it is attached. My son hates having this thing on, but will eventually relent. It would be easier though, if it didn't have such weak grip on the tiny piece of velcro attached to the tiny slit of fabric used as a chin strap. I'm continually having to put it back on him because all he has to do is flick it with his finger and it's off. The rest of the helmet is fairly easy to customize with the velcro closure on the back to adjust circumference and the padded insert for smaller noggins. We didn't use this "T-Shaped" insert since my son has such a big head but I assume it would stay in place well if you can manage to squeeze it through the holes. The general quality deserves some mention. The stitching is impeccable, the foam is perfectly even, the fabric is tough yet breathable and doesn't feel too cheap. Even though the chin strap is flimsy, it is still very well assembled. All in all, this little hat is going to spare me some shrieks and swear words this summer when he's playing outside. It has already spared him from a head butt with the kitchen cupboards and we've had it less than a week!

Light weight and sturdy
My little one started crawling and i picked this up after looking at several other choices. I wasn’t totally sure but as soon as I received it I was pleasantly surprised. It’s light weight and thicker then I expected it feels real sturdy. After using it for my now crawling son I was so glad I did , he took several spills criers lil bit and was back at it. No major damage so to speak. Doesn’t mind wearing it though he does sweat a little. I also like the padded inserts that with air flow. The one thing I don’t like are the straps. The ones that attach to the helmet are a little to big. Overall I’m very pleased. It serves its purpose. Definitely consider purchasing this helmet

great concept, impossible to keep on baby's head
My daughter did not like this at all. We first tried using it on her around 7 months when she was actively crawling/pulling herself up. It seemed too big on her and she kept managing to take it off even though it was adjusted to tightest setting. She would get agitated and start crying, ironically hurting herself in process over something meant to protect her. We set it aside and decided to wait a few months thinking she would adjust once she got a little bigger. She's now 10 months and we attempted a few times again with same issue, she gets anxiety and starts to panic when we put it on her, im starting to wonder if its just not very comfortable for her. She has no problem wearing hats/headbands and wore caps all the time as a baby, its not like she isn't used to the feeling of something on her head. Didn't work for us and I sent it back. Great concept, just not ideal for most energetic and quick-witted babies.

She recommended a soft helmet because he is a climber and ...
My 1YO gave himself a concussion at the dictir's office. She recommended a soft helmet because he is a climber and better at up than down. This helmet is cute, adjustable and reasonably cool. We live FL, so any head covering is going to be problematic. The difficulty is that the chin strap is Velcro, so my son can get it off easily. When he is busy climbing he leaves it on, but the moment he gets up where he wants to survey what he has conquered, he chucks it across the room. Here's the thing, if they make the chin closure better, there is risk of choking. So, in my opinion this is the best offering available. I'm working on his tolerance of the helmet, which is slowly going better.

Pays for itself
When my husband first ordered this for our son when he was learning to walk, I thought he was being overprotective Dad. Then our son fell flat on the back of his head and I held back a gasp and there it was, he simply rolled over and kept going about his business. That alone made this product pay for itself. Since then our son has had many falls, and while wearing this helmet, hasn’t cried once. The only downside is it can get a little hot since it’s a thick fabric and material on their head but aside from that, money well spent!

Its ok.
I purchased this product for my toddler about 2 weeks ago. Its soft and easy to put on his head, but it doesn't provide complete protection from falls. His forehead still hits the floor leaving him with some bruises.
