Nisorpa 2000W Variable Voltage Transformer 2000VA AC Variable Voltage Converter 2KVA 0-130V Output Auto Converter 20Amp for Electricity

I've been wanting a variable transformer (Variac) for years, but they all seemed too expensive. This one was such a deal! With a 20 amp capacity I'll never need more. Great way to get any VAC between 0 and 130 and without the noise of a chopper, i.e., sine wave output. Uses 5 watts with no load, but that seems reasonable given its 2KVA rating. Has a analog voltmeter to show output voltage. Made in China (Duh) and the spec sheet is comical with bad English, but very simple to operate. Comes with four fuses. The voltage pointer on the rotating knob is hard to read, but a dab of white-out will fix that. Great deal overall.

I got the (China) price, but not the (China) shipping time... I was here in two days... Well packed and solid.

I used it to control a single speed rotary tool. This thing is more than capable of handling the job. I would not doubt this thing will last a while. It saved me a ton of money instead of buying a new tool with variable speed built in.To other posters comments: the only markings on the unit are the voltage ratings, control knob settings, meter and place of manufacturer. There are no specific UL labels on this if that is a concern. I am not sure if the more expensive units are accredited by UL but something to look into. It’s such an odd piece of electrical equipment I would be doubtful if anyone went through the trouble of accreditation.
