I had always been using the red organic lentils that I love. They have been out of stock at the grocery store and on Amazon so I needed a replacement for my tasty source of protein. I found these, they are slightly smaller and are whole lentils. These do not get soft and mushy like my usual that were larger and split, and they taste and smell better. Can't go wrong, I have found a new favorite.

Very good lentils, taste fine with just a little salt. 😋 have never tried black lentils. Will buy again.

I don't know why it's so hard to find black lentils anymore, but these are good. Package is substantial to continue storing the unused portion.

They hold their shape once cooked. Good taste. Great fiber. Healthy.

These lentils are so delicious and cooked up really quickly. Typically I would soak lentils overnight but I boiled these for about 20 minutes and added them to sautéed carrots, celery and onion. Absolutely delicious. I will definitely buy these again!

Be sure to read the directions. If you are going to add anything to the lentils, cook it separately. Anything you cook with it turns black. Next time I will cook the lentils and then rinse and drain them before adding them to anything. I did like the flavor and texture of the lentils.
