Significant improvement over Bonavita Kettle
I recently purchased this kettle as a replacement for the Bonavita 1.0L Digital Variable Temperature Gooseneck Kettle. I owned and daily used the Bonavita kettle for approximately 2.5 years. It wasn't bad, but it was not great. Fortunately, I purchased the Asurion extended warranty coverage and was able to get a full refund (in the form of an Amazon gift card). Why I returned the Bonavita kettle:- Rust. I noticed rust spots on the bottom of the kettle within a month or two. Even worse (and the real reason I returned it) was the mineral buildup at the neck/kettle body junction. This suggested a slow leak at the junction. The quantity and rate of the buildup did not suggest the minerals were left by water than ran down the spout but instead led me to believe the metal (or weld?) was actually corroding through. I noticed other users had similar issues.- Pour spout. The pour spot on the Bonavita allows water to exit too fast, in my opinion. I used a hacksaw to modify the pour angle, allowing it pour more smoothly (I used a Hario kettle as a guide for the spout angle).I recently viewed a YouTube video that compared the Brewista, Bonavita, Stagg, and Oxo variable temp electric kettles. The reviewer noted that Brewista was founded by an individual who used to work for Bonavita. That makes sense because the Brewista kettle looks and feels like a more robust, refined, and better-constructed version of the Bonavita kettle.- It pours far better than the Bonavita (no need to get out a hacksaw this time).- The body and spout look/feel thicker and more heavy duty. I am curious as to the differences in grades and thicknesses of stainless steel used between the two kettles.- The neck/body junction looks far more robust. Instead of just a weld, it appears that a collar, sleeve, or ferrule might have been used to ensure a more solid connection.- This unit also has the addition of a clock/timer so you can set your water to boil at a certain time (when you wake up, etc.).- I like the handle, despite the fact that at least one reviewer thought it was difficult to grasp and manipulate. I like it better than the Bonavita's handle. I'm sure this comes down to hand size and individual strength. (I am a 5'7", 150 lb man with small/medium-sized hands, glove size 8, if it matters.)I'll update this review in the future after considerably more use. I use my kettle 1-2 times a day (with Chemex or Hario V60). For what it's worth, I still purchased the Asurion extended warranty coverage--just in case.

Fantastic programmable electric kettle
I ordered this to go along with my aeropress and have so far been very happy with it in the week I've been using it. The main feature I was looking for in an electric kettle was one that I could program to come on at a certain time so that I could have hot water ready to go when I go to make coffee in the morning, and this was one of the very few options that had that capability. The kettle itself is pretty light, and the size seems perfect for having just a couple people use it. It doesn't take up too much space on the counter and looks nice. It heats up in about 4-5 minutes to about 205 which is typically what I have it set for. The instructions are pretty easy to follow and getting it set up and learning how to use it only takes a few minutes. You can quickly select from preset temps or manually select the exact temperature you want to heat the water to. Programming the kettle is simple as well, and takes just 20 seconds or so. Unfortunately you can only set one program and it has to be within 24 hours, so you can't set it for a couple days into the future if needed. I'm sure soon, they'll be wifi controlled with apps and remote water level readings, etc... but for now just being able to have hot water the next morning works fantastically. One of the other things I like about it, is that you can take it off the base and set it on any surface without worry as the kettle bottom is plastic and doesn't heat as the heating element heats the kettle. The kettle when heating and in keep warm mode is pretty quiet and the unit beeps 3 times to let you know when it's up to temp. The kettle will also keep warm for 1 hour, which is handy when making multiple cups of coffee or tea. As far as ease of pouring, this kettle would be absolutely perfect for pourover coffee people as the precision is fantastic and there are no stray drips. It does an exceptional job at directing the water where and only where you want it with no dribbles. I also tested the accuracy of the temperature with an instant read thermometer and it was spot on with what the kettle was reading.I'm pretty sure we've got hard water as after just a couple days use, I started to notice some slight mineral build up on the inside base of the kettle, but after googling and mixing 1T of powdered citric acid from the grocery store into a pot full of water and letting it sit for 15 minutes, it was brand new again. It does come with a descaling packet but I imagine those are much more expensive.Assuming the kettle holds up over time, This is a fantastic option for those looking for a smallish programmable electric kettle and I'd definitely recommend it.

Great kettle
Works really well when you include the flow restrictor which is an extra $6. Should have been included or just built with a slower flow rate. -1 star for that.Either way, great kettle for the price of most non electric kettles.

I bought my Brewista in 2019, it still heats up fast, looks great, I use it more than ever!
The Brewista Stout Spout Switch Kettle is the best purchase I made in 2019. I use it daily! This Brewista electric kettle heats water so fast, is much more efficient than an electric or gas stove. This kettle quickly heats water to the perfect hot temperature, and I love the temperature gauge built into the handle on the lid! A very helpful feature. The kettle is well made, not flimsy, not too light, nor too heavy. The spout size controls the flow of hot water “perfectly“, not too slow, not too fast. This electric kettle is a well designed, attractive kettle that heats water fast! Also, if you have any questions or issue regarding your order, the Brewista customer service is exemplary!

Love This Kettle
I never thought I needed one, until I saw a review somewhere, and then I saw that this model had been marked down by a big margin. So I splurged. This electric kettle heats so fast (faster than my whistling stovetop teakettle), and the electric kettle heats the water to the perfect temperature too, with automatic shutoff. Its spout is great for pour-over coffee or just for making tea. I love my colorful ceramic teapot, but it leaks as I pour. This electric kettle's spout does not leak. It's wonderful.

Great product but bad Brewista customer service.
Kettle is great for pour overs. Heats water just fine. Well balanced in the hand. Issue is with Brewista customer service as they don’t support their products. Their phone number isn’t active anymore in North America and email is not very good. Plus is if it’s sold by amazon they really help a lot to fix any issue. Mine came without the thermometer and cleaner but it’s not a big deal as I have an external one. Water is the perfect temperature and doesn’t affect the end result of the brew but is best if it did if your brewing teas or anything more sensitive.

Good for the money, but flow-rate control could be better and water leakage
I bought this to try and improve my pourovers. It's incredibly low-cost compared to other alternatives, and the reasons are clear once you take a close look. There is no temperature control, just a food thermometer stuck to the lid. This is actually a reasonable compromise, particularly as my pourovers always start with boiling the water (see James Hoffman on Youtube for reasons why). The challenges to this kettle are two-fold:1) The design seems to allow for water to leak and pool in the base. I think it's either an overflow valve somewhere or the steam hole in the lid. It's not ideal and leads to a messy coffee production area (which makes me unpopular with the rest of the household)2) The spout agitates the water on a slow pour - this means a 250ml pourover either requires quicker pouring than I would like, or a slower pour that upsets the coffee grounds in the filter.Despite these two flaws, it is around 20% of the cost of something similar in a true "gooseneck" style, and is definitely an upgrade from a run-of-the-mill kitchen kettle for pourover coffee.

Not compatible with Indian voltage standards
It is the best smart kettle for all coffee brewing methods of pourover but only issue when i buyed and return it was just because of voltage issue brewista beeds 120v and all Indian standards boards have 220v and after buying the expensive kettle need to buy and voltage converter was not a good option for me . Only buy if you have extra budget for converter of rs.7000 extra . The product is worth buy so wish to have it.Note : delivery time is way to long
