I am outdoors a lot and have many lightweight and heavier jackets, old and new, just now I mainly wear my mountain warehouse rain jackets as I don't really feel the cold much, but they are more suitable for showers, with little or no heat retension, i didnt want to wear my heavier winter jackets so took a chance on this one, it is as expected, a step up from shower proof, feels much better quality to match the price and with slightly better insulation, just enough for colder autumn days, its a neat fit for me at 6ft 1in and around 20st, so until i lose some weight I won't be able to wear a fleece under it, it has a good hood and collar combination, and as some have stated, its not long at all, stops right about the belt line. I am happy with the purchase as overall its what I was hoping for.
