Comfort and function
I had double hernias, one of which was painful and limiting my daily activity. I ordered another truss that was basically a garter belt and a waste of money. Returned it and ordered this truss which is very substantial, well made, and of high quality. It worked well for me with some modifications. I wore it 61 days straight and it was in essentially the same condition on the last day as the first. I have a 40 inch waist and ordered the L – 39 – 43 size. That was too small because to expand it enough to fit my waist some of the hook and loop material on the sides was exposed, digging into my waist. Order one size up and give yourself the leeway to adjust it and keep the hook and loop covered. The elastic straps are a nuisance unless you affix them to the belt in the back. I did this by pulling the top of each loop down to the bottom of the belt (effectively doubling the strap on the belt) and then tacking each strap in place with a row of stitches at the top and bottom of the belt. I’m no seamstress but it held up perfectly for 61 days of use. I washed the truss and pressure pad each night in the bathroom basin with Woolite detergent. It’s a pain to wash out the pressure pad – acts like a sponge and keeps generating suds, but squeeze it under running water, let it soak up more water and repeat enough times and you can get the soap out. The truss belt is much easier to wash and wring out by hand. I gave it a 4 for comfort due to the size problem (it was TIGHT) and I gave it a 4 for ease of use because it had to be modified by stitching the straps to the back of the belt to make it convenient to use. If you do that you can take it on and off like a jock strap. All-in-all, modified for convenience it does a great job of giving you daily activity back if you have a hernia. Finally – wear it under – not over - your underwear. Much more comfortable and convenient. Hopefully my surgery fixed everything and I won’t have a repeat, but if I did, I now have the answer as to what to do until I get it fixed.

WonderCare $28 belt much more supportive than overpriced Everyday Medical belt that slips around
This belt offers much more "stable support" than the "Everyday Medical" thing that slides around & doesn't support while sitting. I finally after too long of a time realized if I tipped the top of the Everyday Medical pad down & put it into location, it would help (for awhile). This Wonder Care belt is immensely more supportive & stable! That said, the top part of the waist strap digs in to the skin & is irritating. I cut a section from an old shirt & tuck it in. Much better. Hope they design a soft piece that covers that harsh strap.(Not everyone wears underwear in the tropics lol)Would have given 5 stars if Not for cutting top of waist strap.Other warning is, I ordered a WonderCare belt that looks like this one, tho has pockets for the pads & it is NOT what i thought i ordered. If i could return it i would! I like the one with no pouches & free movable pads on velcro. Hope this helps even one out there from wasting $18 or so on that other one. Who knows, maybe some like that better. This one with free movable pads is $28 & the one with pouches is $18 & the pads seem to Not be as firm.Punchline: Good job WonderCare on the belt with no pouches & free movable pads!

After surgery review only.
This really works, it keeps the correct pressure thanks to the adjustable velcro straps. The inguinal hernia incision is within the path of the belt so it helps you heal by not having any rubbing from waistline clothing like jeans or belts. The pain after surgery is very annoying and trust me, it hurts like a b****. You should buy this for the after care. It is not stiff, its excellent enough to comfort your area allowing you to use the restroom. This belt does not restrict movement but it prevents your belt or pants from putting the slightest pressure by distributing it evenly across the entire belt allowing you to walk without hurting everytime you take a step. The belt does come with some little paddings but i took them off as they will push on area causing it to hurt. The paddings are just way too huge for a belt. They literally are the size of a golf ball and there is no way you can place that inside the belt not causing discomfort. Please note that this is a review of this belt for after surgery procedure of an inguinal hernia and not prior surgery. I was not paid nor credited in any way for my honest review, i just know how a PITA it is to deal with healing and this will help you. By the way the belt does not cause sweating if used under normal daily conditions. If you walk a ton it might but i didnt have an issue at all.

its alright
I have never used any other similar products, so my opinion on this item may be somewhat myopic... The thing is mighty uncomfortable, but does its intended job. It fits well around the waist, and is okay at retaining what it needs to. It requires much adjusting and a re-positioning throughout the day. If your activities include bending or kneeling, this brace is not restrictive enough to keep in place. the next size down probably would have been too small for me, as this fits perfect, but isn't tight enough. I could suggest an adjuster like that on the strap of a backpack on the waistband, so you can cinch it in tighter that the velcro allows for, and possibly a third pad that is the same size as the two included in the kit, and have an internal air bladder with a small pump button or bulb to allow for individual body shape discrepancies. those with a deeper groove between the outside and center of the hip will have trouble with these two little pads included... I put both next to each other for added stability, as my hernia is larger than the single pad itself. including one large pad just a little taller and wider than both small ones combined would be ideal for people with one large hernia. and perhaps a little thicker, or with an internal air bladder for precise fit. for the money, and for what it does, this product is just fine. Its not ideal, but it works enough for me to regain some functionality in every day life. would purchase again. not impressed enough to recommend without some modifications.
