Old carpenter here...Good : they do not rust near the oceanBad: screws are "softer" than the regular "decking screws"...E.G. while screwing into the wood (old wood), the screws "melt" sometimes.I pre drilled the hole (but not the full 3"), and counter sunkSo i recommend pre drilling the whole 3" deep, even though they have the self tapping tip.

These stainless screws are small for their rated number size. I included the photo to show the #10 × 2" screw from Eagle Claw in the middle with McFeeley screws on each side of it. The screw on the left is a #10 × 2.5" and the one on the right is a #8 × 1.75". This clearly shows the Eagle Claw #10 is equivalent to the McFeeley #8 and take note of the finer and smaller threads too. These screws were bought for hanging plywood and will suffice for the job. If you are doing any heavier work, I would absolutely size up and, if going into soft wood, thought should be given to the shallow threads. The material seems OK and similar to any other stainless in that care should be taken as they will strip easily.

The screws are thinner than similarly graded non-stainless steel screws. More like #6 than #8. Also the case suffered severely in transit and came taped together without the broken plastic pieces of the case. I haven't counted the screws so far, but wonder if I indeed received 350 as ordered.Seller stepped up sending a spec sheet that showed screws to be within standard thickness ranges and offered to send 100 extra screws to make up for any that may have been lost.

The screws bend easily and break when penetrating harden dried wood. If you are not using a precise bit, you will strip many screws. The bit provided isn't high quality and therefore you should get a spare.

Bought these for a deck that we were redoing using Alaskan Cedar. If you have never used that wood, you would be amazed at how dense and tough it is. My concern was that SS was going to be too brittle with that wood, turned out that there was no issue at all. Using cordless impact drivers these went in like a charm, used the whole box and only had one that snapped because I hit a bad knot.

Work great for cedar walls.

These screws are amazing!, Whoever says they dont like them probably doesn't use a impact driver, not one went to waste during my deck project , No strips or slips at all, love the T25 heads and the fact that they are stainless steel, a little more expensive than regular deck screws but worth it, my old ones #10 x 3 brown deck screws from H-D rusted in 5 years and a lot of them went to waste eather striping of snaping them , Definitely recommended if you want to build a deck that will last.
