Q: Is this chair good for extended periods of sitting, for example, at work for 2-4 hour intervals or a full 8 hour day?

I've gone 2-3 hours, modeling at a table 29" above the floor. No back strain (and I have a bad back), but my knees need the occasional break, so I plant my feet firmly, to give them a rest. I know for a fact, that sitting non-stop for more than 2-3 hours, is risky... we are not built to sit for long periods; this chair helps IMO.

Q: I am 6'1" is anyone aware of a chair like this one that would work for someone my height? Thanks.. :)

I am 6 foot and found it works great: it is adjustable. It keeps your spine in proper orthopedic alignment (just look at a CAT scan of the human spine). It is the constant use of "normal" American chairs that causes millions of Americans to have bad back problems after age 30.

Q: Are the casters hardwood-friendly?

I haven't seen any caster marks on my hardwood when I work downstairs, but they don't seem especially made to not scratch up hardwood.

I'm 6' tall, 195 lbs and I've used this chair with great success for a year. Unfortunately, I tend to lean back on it from time to time to give my legs a chance to straighten out, and the force of my weight on the back edge of the chair has caused the cheap plywood underneath to break a bit. Eventually it'll break completely, but frankly I don't mind having to buy one of these chairs every year. It has done wonders for my very sever sciatica issue that prompted me to get the chair in the first place. It's a good product and I'd recommend it, as long as your under 200 lbs. Works fine for people who are 6' tall.
