OM SYSTEM OLYMPUS VR-340 Red 16MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical Zoom (Red)

I bought this camera to use for work functions and have been extremely pleased with how easy this camera is to work, as well as, the quality of pictures it takes. I am not sure if it was stated in the product specifications, but this camera has some cool features on it, such as, Beauty Fix. Every picture I have taken, I have gone in and applied the different beauty fixes....and everyone comes out looking just awesome!! What used to be an annoying task of getting people to let me take their pictures has now turned into a fun event as they want to see what I can do to make them look like a "celebrity". I have even touched up some of my guys and though they won't admit it, they always give me the okay to do the "fixed up" picture of themselves...lol! The quality of the pictures are so good, that I have everyone wanting to go buy this camera for their own usage and the price is sooooo affordable, it's silly to pay more for any other camera.

For the price, this is a wonderful camera. I have been through many digital cameras looking for one that had a short "Click to capture" response time. This is the best I found. Yes, I probably could have found one which was quicker for more money, but I wasn't willing to go over a certain price point. After all, when a camera is around children, do you really want to invest big bucks?In addition, this camera is really user friendly. It is super easy to use (once I figured it out) on the fly and captures most of the fast moving pictures (kids hate to pose). The zoom is great, just enough. The size of the camera is perfect, good for holding steady, the buttons are easily accessed. My last camera was smaller (a Kodak) and I had problems pushing tiny buttons completely down without jiggling the camera. This is not to say this camera is huge, because it definitely is not (Still fits in my pocket), but it fits nicely in my hand. All in all, this is a wonderful camera.

What a nice little camera, actually shirt-pocket size at last. Everything seems nicely fitted and finished.My open-box one included the battery, a charger, two cables (1 for charger and data transfer; and 1 for composite TV). They include the useless CD that comes with these things. There's a strong grey wrist strap. All was in excellent shape, except for one crushed corner of the outer box that made no difference.The sole nasty thing about it is that its cables use a proprietary plug. I would not have ordered, had I realized. THESE ARE NOT NORMAL USB CABLES! If you forget to take one along, you will seldom be able to borrow one. If you lose it, you may have to root round the web trying to order from Olympus at a high price. An annoying and silly design decision. Maybe later Olympus models have corrected it.Otherwise, the camera works immediately, looks and feels like a high grade item. I feel certain it will do for my (low) requirements. First trials make it seem easily usable. The huge 10X range of available zoom feels luxurious.Spare batteries look reasonable in cost.

I'm not sure why this camera does not have many, many more 5 star reviews. I have been trying for years to find a point and shoot camera that is in a nice price range that took good pictures. I have purchased many and have returned many. I tried again as this Olympus model seemed to have what I wanted. I liked the fact that it had some playful features like the fisheye, soft focus, pinhole, etc. I have had a lot of fun playing around with those. But, even without those features I would have bought this camera and paid more for it. It takes the most beautiful, clear, professional looking photos. I've posted a few here on this Amazon review. Truthfully, the photos showing here speak volumes on the quality of photos produced from this camera. There are plenty of things to learn with the camera regarding its settings and whatnot. But, it did not take me long to learn the basics. Some of the other settings like 'beauty fix' I have not tried yet but am sure will be just an additional great feature to this camera. Honestly, I am tempted to buy another one just in case it gets discontinued. It's so hard to find a camera that does this well in this price range. I've paid several hundred dollars more on cameras in the past and received photos without quality this high. I'm impressed and it's about time.To add, the image stabilization is so good I can be moving around alot and the photo still comes out clear. I cannot say enough about this camera!

i'm an oly fangirl. i shoot exclusively with olympus cameras so buying this was a no-brainer for me. a few things i didn't like about the camera, maybe i got a bad copy. the photos inside were horrible, none were in focus and the flash was horrible. i don't expect images i get from my micro four-thirds collection, but i do expect decent. i know olympus cameras and what to expect, but i just couldn't keep this. it arrived on friday and i shipped it back on monday. it was a gift for my mother. it was actually too small for her, but a decent size if i bought it for myself. i still love olympus and will always shoot olympus, but for point and shoot cameras i will have to look for either a higher end olympus or another brand.
