Watercolour Tips (Collins Gem)

There is so much information packed into this book that is actually useful regarding painting a landscape and everything in it...the background, foreground, focal plane, perspective, sky, mountains, hills, trees, buildings, water, puddles, people. Really, wish I had found this book 10 or 20 years ago! So much practical, easy to use advice. Thank you Ian King!

Easy to use following instructions

The size is in the description but I missed it. This book is small. It is packed with information but it is not easy to read due to the size of the book. I keep wanting to get a magnifying glass to read it. There are books on watercolor with the same info as this book that are not micro sized. I would not recommend this book unless you need a pocket size reference.

An excellent book for beginners. It is packed with information yet at the same time presents a method whereby you can quickly gain confidence. I absolutely love this book and highly recommend it! Thank you author, bless you for producing this book.

great to take in the field. Quick tips and reminders.

Lots of good advice on how to approach and depict a large number of subjects. I particularly liked his treatment of water and shadows. He's color mixing suggestions I found extremely helpful.

I was very surprised to get a 3x5 small book. The contents are geast, but the size is very hard to read.

just finished reading it, great advice, and written in an enjoyable way... didn't realise it was a small format book until it arrived. (my bad. should have checked) so had to read with huge modelling viewer on over specs... Luckily I live alone. Like I said great product well written.

Just started watercolour class..after 50 years without picking up a brush! This small book is indispensable.Ittucks away in yr pocket or art case, great for tips, refreshing your ideas or simply reference!I had it downloaded on my Kindle,so impressed that I bought the physical copy! Whether a beginner or a seasoned artist, I feel this book will be a useful buy!

I loved this handy little book; as a new watercolour artist I have lots to learn, and Ian presents techniques, advice, and tips in an easily understood style. Added to this are examples of his work which further illustrate the advice given. An enjoyable read and useful guide for practicing techniques and to keep close at hand for reference when working on a painting.
