THEY FIT MY SON GOOD AND LAST SO FAR

My son is an aggressive basketball player. There is no ball that he wont go after. This means there is time spent diving to the floor in every game. Each knee gets 4 meniscus for a lifetime. So knee pads are mandatory, in my opinion. We have bought many pairs of the Mcdavid pads. They protect well, but they invariably rip, many times, much sooner than one would expect given the cost.I got these knee pads, and he immediately commented that they feel nice against his skin. I noticed that the padding is very similar to the name brand. After a full week of practice, and a rough and tumble tournament, the padding in fact worked out great, and the fabric did not rip, or look worn. He spent a lot of time diving for loose balls, and forcing turn overs. So that padding ad durability is appreciated. However, one caveat. That durability seems to come at a cost. Evidently this is why the name brand pads, do not try to upgrade the fabric. He did get a pretty nasty carpet burn on the skin of his knee, with the pads on. Now this tells me a few things. The knee made significant, prolonged contact with the ground, likely at a high rate of speed. He had no issues with the knee joint, or any sort of pain. He did not even notice the carpet burn, until he took the pads off, on the ride home. The pads remain in perfect shape, and the fabric still looks new. So everything held up, except his skin on his knee.Overall, I buy the knee pads to protect wear and tear on the knee joint. So this does not disqualify these knee pads yet. If we have future reoccurrences, we may get some sort of sleeve to wear under the pads. But overall, I am looking for joint protection, and durability. These do that.

I like these, unfortunately it runs a bit small, I picked up a large but should have picked up an XL as my thighs are on the large side. I do like the material, it is like a sweat wicking material, there is a rubber sticky material to keep the sleeve up. Would recommend, just make sure you order the correct size.
