Rim Job Wheel Wax Superior Protective Finish - Combo

The name of this product catches your attention immediately. (Maybe it my dirty mind) Anyway, I saw the high rating it has and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did, because it went on smoothly, and if it's applied thinly and uniformly, and wiped off before it can dry and harden, it will leave a clean and shiny finish which will repel dust and dirt, making subsequent cleaning easier and keeping a nice look to your wheels. I have alloy wheels, so I can't speak for any other type of wheel, but I can say that this stuff is as good as any I have tried.

Great wax. Everything advertised for this product is true. Protects great against brake dust and other containments on the wheels. A bit hard to wipe off but that is expected with a protective wax like this. I used way too much wax the first time I used this. I'd advise multiple light coats (about once or twice a month) instead of one heavy coat.

This stuff really does work. It is a few steps above a standard wax. It does something extraordinary to the wheels. After 3-4 applications it forms almost a second layer of protection. It also gets easier to apply after the first application. The first time you do a rim job with this you may get a little worn out, but it is worth it. The next time it will be easier and so on. They give you such a generous amount if you are using it on one car and don't use too much I could see a can of this lasting 2-3 years easily. The applicator sponges they include are also of a high quality. They aren't an afterthought. They must have taken a while to find sponges to compliment this A+ product. This is the first time I purchased this wheel wax, as my favorite brand seems to have been discontinued. For years I had been using the purple "smartwax" but it's not available any longer. I have a couple of issue with this "rim job" stuff. First, it's difficult to fully remove and get a good polished shine, especially if you let it dry too long. If you apply to all 4 wheels then come back the the first wheel to begin buffing off - that's too long. Getting a good shine requires a lot of elbow grease. The second time I used it, I applied to one wheel, waited about 2 minutes then buffed off. This made it easier to remove but prolongs the overall process of doing 4 wheels.The other problem is that, after several days, especially if there's rain, the wheels get a 'cloudy' look. This was particularly noticeable on chrome wheels on one of my cars. My other car has painted, clear-coated wheels and this cloudy effect was less noticeable.

I got this stuff for my rims hoping it would help repel the water and road grime that comes along with it, but it hasn't rained since I put it on. I have been getting carried away however in using it for "off label" things. I put it on my painted black bumper and this is the longest its ever looked nice, I took it inside and put in on my chrome faucets since I figure they are like chrome rims..they repel water and are easier to clean now. Well then today I was trying to polish a bunch of old piano black plastic items with plastic polish. They looked good, but -bam!- when I put this stuff on as the final step, it brought out the mirror finish that it should have.The rims on my car look really nice too.

Used this product on my Camaro's Brembo brakes, GREAT brakes but the worst brake dust I've ever experienced. This product doesn't stop the brake dust as much as just rinsing the rim gets most of the dust off as it won't stick as much. Probably fills in very small indentations in the rim and is slicker that the dust won't stick to.

Besides possibly the best name ever for a product, marketing considerations aside, this stuff works. It makes my spoked tires on my Street Bob easier to clean, and really shines them well. It lasts quite awhile. I can go a few months without re-applying. Just rinse off. Love this product.

I've been detailing my own cars for more than 30 years. This product is amazing. My painted wheels have a smoked chrome finish and it's always been tough to keep that glossy shine due to brake dust, dirt etc. A few applications of Rim Job and there no need to dust the rims with a paint brush as I typically do after a days worth of driving The resistance to brake dust is amazing. In addition, the rims are near perfect after a car wash. No need to pretreat with and chemical products.
