Kirby 329614 Brushroll Avalir T&G, 1

This does fit my Kirby Avalir 2. Note this is only for the shampoo attachment. That's it for the positives, it fits.For cleaning tile and grout, the Kirby in general is the wrong tool for the job. There is no suction to pick up the water, only the action of the brush roll throwing water into a tiny collection tray. Most of the dirty water is kicked out of the back of the vacuum. The more you clean, longer, larger area, more water put down, you just have that much bigger mess to clean up. The dirty water IS dirty, so I guess it is cleaning to some degree. I had to go back over the whole floor with my old Hoover Floor Mate to extract all the dirty water. I also find the circular scrub brushes of the hoover do a much better job of breaking up and removing suck on particles from the tile. With an actual suction system for the water, and large storage tank for dirty water, the Hoover leaves the floor clean and dry. The Kirby just makes a MESS!Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my Kirby for carpet. There simply is no better vacuum. but for bare floors, look elsewhere. The Shark Duo-Clean is a great option for general sweeping of bare floors. When the time comes to put down a little water, the Hoover is wonderful. I haven't tried the Bissel, but I'm sure it's as wonderful as the Hoover and both would leave the Kirby soaking wet. The shampoo attachment is a little better for carpet. The lavender scent is nice to freshen the room, but honestly it's more of a gimmick than a serious carpet cleaner. Rent or buy a Rug Doctor. I thought I would save money with this system over renting, and save time picking up and returning the machine. The time involved in switching to the shampoo attachment and back negates the time spent driving to Fry's or Walmart around the corner, and I'm driving there anyway for groceries or something. And speaking of attachments, sure the Kirby comes with lots of them. But removing the brush attachment to use them is ridiculous. If I need to use a hose, I'll grab my Shark.Wait, the sprayer attachment, what in the world would you use that for? I did find a use. Cleaning my engine! Rather than squeeze squeeze squeeze the trigger of a spray bottle until my hand fell off, I let the Kirby do it. Although a spray bottle is what 59 cents? And the Kirby is 3 thousand dollars... Yeah, I got ripped on that one too, $1600 on Amazon. Actually though I paid about 2 grand, the rest is interest on their finance. But honestly the salesman was not going to leave until we said yes. My wife was about to call the police to have them remove him from our home! Seriously!I can't recommend the Kirby enough for carpet. It truly is the best. For everything else you're much better off with something dedicated to that task. Don't waste your money on attachments.
