I have multiple back issues. I need something to hold my horses hooves instead of me for cleaning. Those with back issues, do you find this helpful?

This is a metal tool. You would have to lift it. I cant seem to get it low enough for one of the older horses hooves to rest on. But if your horse holds still.. only thing is you would put hoof on top to shape it, I am not sure for me if I would put hoof bent back to clean, if horse puts foot down or steps back how would you move this away fast enough to prevent injury? Otherwise I use this in between FERRIER visits to shape front.

Is it easy to change the height?

Yes. The lower ring pulls the pin to adjust height and is spring loaded. The upper ring pulls the pin allowing you to lower the shroud which enables you to place the bottom of the hoof on top of the ball and it makes it easier for filing the hoof. Hope this helped!

Can this product be used with goats?

Yes, this would work fine for goats. This is a nice stand.

Does it come with the insert for front hooves?

Yes it is installed on the post. The cradle shown in the upright position is held there by a spring loaded bolt. When you pull it the cradle drops to reveal the capped post. This unit is really tall. Built for racehorses in my opinion .
