Got this for my dad after his wood splitter starter broke. Fantastic find, and he reports that it works perfectly. We also received the item way sooner than expected, so he was able to finish his stockpile before the next bout of rains hit.

Cord seems strong enough. Plastic handle broke today (second day using it)..... it was around 15-20 degrees outside, so I can chalk the failure up to that maybe, but I wish the handle was rubberized instead of plastic

Recoil works good but the pull string is to short.

The photo that is shown on the shopping page is not the same as what I received! The center wheel that hold the rope isn’t the same. My original broken recoil starter has a thick black plastic wheel as shown in picture. Same cross braces and all. The one I received wasn’t the same. Plastic wheel was white and plastic was much thinner and the cross bracing wasn’t a match to my original one. Much cheaper knock off in my opinion. Broke third pull starting motor. Waist of my time and money!!!!
