This new upgraded silent mother board currently does not come pre-installed on our Ender 3, Ender 3 Pro or Ender 5 3d printers. At this point, the mute mainboard is just a separate upgrade part for all Ender series printers. The firmware for the Ender 3 Pro comes pre-installed, but it also works excellently for the Ender 5 as well. For the Ender 3 and Ender 3 Pro, you just plug them in and start printing. For Ender 5, you will need to install the.HEX file by yourself. You can download file here: (https://bit.ly/2FBSuHn).

Unbelievable difference from stock board
So I only received this today and installed it this evening but what a difference it has made to the sound and the print quality.I had read that it made a difference and it is called 'silent' but I wasn't expecting just how quiet it was going to be, the fans are now the loudest components on the machine by a long shot.I have comlleted 4 prints with the new board, this includes one reprint of something I did the day before, the difference was very noticeable with the sagging seen on the first print completely eliminated and the surface finish improved with fewer imperfections. When I received the board I was worried that I had made a mistake, there were no real differences from the v4.2.2 I could see, I considered returning it thinking I had misread the advice, however as soon as I decided to install it and tried it out I knew I had made the right choice, the difference was evident immediately.

Would never have thought it would make my printer so silent
If you have an Ender 3 or 3-Pro with an 8-bit motherboard, you need this upgrade. It is SO incredibly silent now, the main noise is from the fan. I was very sceptical that it would make such a difference. It is quite easy to instal, the ports on the card as all labelled.the only bit I found a bit more difficult was the power cable as you need to unscrew and screw them back in place, and it was very tight for me. Just be careful to put the power cables in the right order - I suspect that those complaining here that the card did not work put them in the wrong place.A couple of port were glued, but it came out very easily.Make sure you also select the card for your printer as it will come with the firmware installed.Just turn your printer on and you will soon realise this is the best update you made!Next for me is the BL Touch - and this card comes with the new dedicated port, so it is much easier to install.

Did not work.
It took me about an hour and a half to install it. It worked as a sort but not properly for about 10 minutes. When I next started the printer if failed on “auto home failed, reset printer. It would get no further. I could get no reply or help from Creality so reinstalled my original card (which works perfectly) and returned the quiet card to Amazon using their excellent returns service. I will wait a while and may try a replacement card in the future. Once you know what you are doing and have removed the connections glue installation is about half an hour transferring wire for wire.

Brilliant upgrade
You won't believe how much quieter the machine runs with this board, it wasn't ender 3 pro ready as described but a quick firmware flash and it was running well. What's not widely documented (as no instructions accompany the pcb) is that the printer memory such as the z offset for the bl touch is stored on the micro sd not the cmos, if like me you use octoprint and don't bother with the micro sd you will need to leave a blank micro sd card in there just for settings memory, without it you will need to recalibrate the bl touch every time you turn it on. Epic upgrade though.

Direct replacement for original pcb with better stepper drivers, QUIETER!
Only gave 4 stars on print quality review as this doesn't really apply, print quality is down to many many things, mostly not the pcb!(Print calibration cubes and temp towers before you decide to print the Dante' Marble Inferno) Still gets warm as the original does, no set up as already preloaded with correct settings, all plugs the same, except from no manky glue. Much much quieter in operation for stepper drivers, can print slightly faster without the printer making the same amount of noise as granny's washing machine. Next step is buck convertors and quality fans.
