Ice Steel
There is a lot resting on the manufacturer's name here. Priced at just under £40.00 as at the 9th June 2019, we have been using these knives for a couple of weeks now.You receive a compact box, within which are the three knives and a very flimsy tray; to call it a knife block is a little bit of an exaggeration. It is designed to fit in a drawer and it holds the knives well providing that you can abut it to other items such as a cutlery drawer or similar. Personally I don't like these knives, I found that they are not well balanced, but perhaps more of an issue is that it is difficult to hold the grips if the knives or your hand is wet.Of the three knives, I found the carving knife the best, with the bread and chef/pairing knife not being so good. Manufactured from "ice steel" the steel is marginally harder (minuscule) but on that basis the edges can chip more easily, although the edges on ours remain sharp and straight. I haven't sharpened these knives yet, but often with steel of this type, it is more difficult to obtain a good edge with home sharpening devices or steels.Three stars? Afraid so. I see these knives as a budget model, great for most homes and for most chefs, sufficient for day to day food preparation. What I didn't like and the reason for deducting two stars in the tray/block, which I don't think will last and the price. Allowing for the Brabantia name and the ice steel, these are a budget set of knives and I feel that there are better value knives available from other manufacturers yet still supplied by Amazon. If you must have a brand, particularly Brabantia, then these knives may be ideal for you. Personally at this price point, I think that there are more comprehensive sets available at a lower price.

Nice and sharp but looks cheap
Three large knives in a plastic drawer organiser. I use a Chefs knife a lot, so was happy that this was included. The organiser is made of a flimsy feeling plastic when inserted in the drawer seemed better, but it takes up a lot of space, meaning my other knives are laid on top.The knives are sharp and lightweight. They are a little too light for my preference, but they are still easy to use. The handles are black moulded plastic and look and feel cheap for such an expensive set. I would have thought either wood or a higher quality material would have been used. When cutting denser food items, although the knife cut through it, it did not feel as strong or sturdy and feared it would bend.Overall, a good set let down by poor handles and case.

Sharp, well priced...
As I seem to spend much of my free time cooking these days, I was in the market for some good knives to make short work of any vegetable that should come my way. As luck would have it, these Brabantia knives came along and seemed to fit the bill. Now, you can spend silly amounts of money on kitchen knives. A quick browse of any kitchenware retailer will show you that sets of knives can range anywhere from £20 to £400. Brabantia have developed a reputation for tastefully designed, sustainably produced homewares, making everything from bins and ironing boards and have been doing so since 1919.In the box you get a chef's knife, a bread knife and a carving knife. The chef's knife has already had quite a lot of use and I'm finding it to be very versatile and very, very sharp. I managed to slightly nick my thumb and it bled for a good while, but the cut was incredibly clean, so that's good...Ahem...Each knife is around 30cm, give or take, including black plastic handles which protrude from the included drawer tidy, which is also black plastic. This is a set that retails for around £40, so whilst it doesn't "feel" like a premium product, I get the feeling that it's in the handles that they saved the money. The blades are excellent and are a good foundation for your cooking setup. You may want to add a paring knife, which Brabantia sell for around £6.50 as part of the same Tasty+ range.

High Quality Knives were just what was expected from Brabantia
Brabantia Drawer Knife Organiser and Knives. We reorganised our cutlery drawer and the knife organiser fitted in beautifully. The knife organiser appears flimsy but when fitted, is sturdy and does the job.The three knives included in the set are a bread knife, a carving knife and a chefs knife. Which really, is basically all you need. The knife organiser is such that the knives fit snugly so they are easily lifted out and replaced.I’ve always liked Brabantia products as they are well made. I will enjoy using the knives as they truly are sharp which will make preparing food more of a pleasure.Previous purchases from Brabantia such as chopping boards and a very efficient tin opener were quality products so I knew the knives would be good.
