the plastic bowls are sturdy, hardwearing and can withstand constant washing and banging ...
I own an 80 seater restaurant and have two of these machines in operation daily.the plastic bowls are sturdy, hardwearing and can withstand constant washing and banging around in a commercial kitchen.the cutter attachment case saves space and cut fingers as they do not need to be stored in draws whilst remaining covered, clean and easily reachable.the machine makes exceptionally good mayonnaise and Caesar dressing as the motor is neither too fast nor too slow.I make pastry in this machine probably 3 times a day and it easily handles the weight and volume of flour, butter and water without making the pastry sweaty or putting the motor under too much pressure.I have used Kenwood mixers of the same size, but the Magimix has the best quality component parts whilst remaining compact, easy to use and store.for a kitchen work horse, you cannot do better than this machine

Magimix as it always was - only better
Very powerful engine, easy to read instructions, excellent attachments and doing everything I wanted it to do. Plus it arrived in Australia in perfect condition from the UK within 3 days. At a far smaller cost than here, even if it had been available.

Grates/Slices/Spiraliser Attachment - Super fast & Great
I bought this processor 6 weeks ago and now becoming more familiar with it. I had a Braun processor for 30+ years but the plastic spindle broke, so I couldn't grate anything and I used to make a lots of coleslaw, grating apples for desserts etc. I use my Kenwood professional for making pastry/cakes etc. but after a year or so of not having a processor whilst I deliberated on what brand and model to buy, a friend persuaded me to buy a Magimix ( she's had hers for over 20 years). I decided to buy this model. It has everything I need ( I love the three bowls). It's a nice solid machine with good stainless steel blades ( I shall purchase the extra julienne blades, then I shall have everything).I've grated carrots, cheese and apples and sliced courgettes and potatoes. I've pureed mango and apples and it's performed magnificently. Now I've moved it to more accessible place in the kitchen - I might give pastry a go. My friend uses hers for absolutely everything. I just found I couldn't lock the unit on the base and lid on properly at first - but that was my fault, I should have read the instructions before, rather than after trying to lock it.It is expensive, but not for the use and years I hope to be using it for. It is not at all flimsy like some others, so it will last years.UPDATE 2nd March 2019Still using my Magimix all week, still looks new and I've had no problems at all. Last year I bought the spiraliser attachments. Pricey (at ยฃ99) but I like spiralising vegetables such as courgettes or carrots etc. The spiraliser attachments are sturdy with stainless steel blades. Unlike the electric 80 watts spiralizer I had (which was weedy and there was a lot of vegetable wasted), the Magimix attachment is as powerful as the model you have, so you can imagine how quickly everything is spiralized with the Magimix 5200XL - 1100 watt. Impressive.

UK model works fine in Australia
Very happy with this purchase. UK model works fine in Australia, and was delivered very quickly. So far used it several times to prepare fruit for making jam, with excellent results. Would recommend to anyone looking to buy a decent food processor.
