Q: The picture accompanying this product shows photos of honeybees. obviously not mason bees. is this a responsible vendor?

I can't speak on how responsible the company is because I have only bought these tubes from them. I can speak on the product quality. I have two mason bee houses and use these tubes which I line with parchment paper for easy removal. These tubes are sturdy and well made. My bees seem to like them just fine. As for the picture, it's unfortunate that the companies marketing agency is ignorant on the difference of mason and honey bees but I wouldn't let that deter you from using this product.

Q: How do you get the honey out?

I did not use these to get honey. I put them up to support bees as pollinators. I didn't expect honey from mason bees. It is better to provide the cardboard tubes than have them drill into the wood structure of your home.

Q: How many tubes does it take to fill a typical, 15 oz, can?

I used all my tubes; so I can't check. I would guess about 10 or 12 tubes in a 15 oz can.
