Yo, Yo, It's sound coming from the back of the car!!!!
Placed these in the back of my girlfriends Honda, Civic. She had forgotten what music sounded like in her car, it had been years since she even thought about changing them but in the mean time, boy could you witness a person driving around with just one speaker working in the car and her intense look on her face, said it all. Might as well had only on big ear and forget the range of tones, I REALLY mean this.Anyhow, these speakers surely did the job for that price, easy to install and now when she drives up... the windows in my house let me know she's here, actually everyone in the neighborhood knows simply by the sound of her car vibrating while coming down the street!! Great speakers and thanks for aiding my girlfriend in calming down, Yea!!!!!

crazy sound for the money
I put them in my honda odyssey hooked up to a four channel 600 watt amplifier. The sound is crisp. They made a huge difference to my system. If don't want too spend a lot of money give these a try. You must use a amplifier to get the proper sound and best performance. ..

They blow really easily. Can't handle being played loud at all
They blow really easily. Can't handle being played loud at all. The 5 way 6x9 have held up great.

Don't expect much
I thought I’d done my due diligence but either I got a really bad pair or I got duped by some dubious reviews. These Performance Teknique (PT) speakers don’t hold a candle to the remaining OEM speaker from my base stereo-equipped, 12yo Honda Odyssey. Not surprisingly, the OEMs were lightweight and cheap, but I was surprised to see they were name-brand (Pioneer.) Surprise #2 was that they were full-range rather than coaxial. This gives the new PT speakers an obvious advantage in the high-frequency department, but not a big one since they’re very “tinny.” The midrange is muffled and the bass is non-existent. The volume is considerably lower with the PTs and since both are 4-ohm, I must conclude that they’re not very efficient either.I wasn’t expecting much from speakers in this price range (twenty-six when I ordered through 3rd-party merchant,) but the other reviews were so positive that I was expecting much more than what I got. I’m probably going to upgrade the head unit soon and add a 5-channel amp and a sub, so the power handling claims paired with the other reviews led me to believe I could include these speakers into a new system. The rear OEMs are wimpy 5.25s so I figured I’d need to replace these with something beefier like 6x9s anyway, but I might have considered giving the 5.25” Performance Tekniques a shot first if these 6.5”s blew me away like other reviewers seemed to have been. They do look pretty cool and seem relatively well built, but once you get them installed, you’re the only one that will know. What everyone else will “see” is that they sound pitiful. I’ve had pretty good luck with new/off-brand products lately, especially when I think I’ve done my research, so I was due for a fail.I’m tempted to give a 1-star review here, but dropping one extra star wouldn’t do much to make up for the other six 5-star reviews anyway, no matter how honest or genuine they might or might not be. I hate reviewers that do that almost as much as I hate ones that give inaccurate reviews because of a problem they have with a seller or shipper. These Performance Teknique 6.5s don’t fail completely at their job, and you could even find worse, but I feel comfortable with giving them 2 stars.

Great speaker for the $$$!!!
Bought these along with a pair of Performance Teknique 6x9's to replace the old stock paper cone Pioneers in my 97 Accord commuter car. Sound great, even with just the power from the head unit and no amp. Not going to win any competitions that way, but I just wanted something a little better sounding than the old paper cones! For the price you can't beat these, I paid about $60 on Amazon (with free shipping of course!) for all 4 and I'd do it a hundred times over. Great job... my only rub is they advertise them as American but they're assembled in China... grr.

5" speakers are as good as the vendors description
PERFORMANCE TEKNIQUE! These 6.5" speakers are as good as the vendors description. I don't feel they fall short of expectations. These speakers deliver a very clean sound! I have them running off a stock deck in 2013 Kia (which Amazon lists as incompatible) as replacements for the front two door speakers. I previously had another brand installed but kept blowing the cone off the basket. I do recommend these speakers for stock replacement as they do have a high sensitivity rating, a clean sound and great price point.BTW if your looking for bass remember it's best found in a woofer mounted in a box!

quite good with a few small flaws
This is a poormans pair of speakers and I didn't buy them for the use of a car, I bought it to build a boom box. The sound is very rich and loud they can go high volumes with not too much power which means they have a high sensitivity . one of the flaws is they the tweeter is crossed over too low and the woofer is croosed over too low which causes nearly all vocals out of the tweeter. The second problem is that there is absoloutly NO WAY to mount the speaker grills to the speaker. But other than that it is a great low coat pair of speakers.
