Perfect for what it's designed for!
this is great product, but gets some negative reviews and comments because some folks try to make it do things that it'snot really designed for. This is for small areas, and/or is great as a quick touch-up sweeper: Got company coming in 10 minutes and your front rug or floor is looking grungy? Boom! This sweeper can tackle it... but don't think your going to clean all of your floors all at once with it. We have several small area rugs where dirt and dog hair and dust buildup on the surface. This Sweeper gets rid of the surface dirt perfectly. The motor does bog down a little bit on rugs, (if you have a shag carpet… Don't even think about it.) On tile or hardwood floors it'll get up all the visible loose dirt, crumbs, sawdust, coffee grounds… Or what have you. This is not a vacuum cleaner . It is a motorized floor sweeper, it has no suction... It's super fast, super lightweight, and super easy to maneuver… Because it swivels ... it has tiny little brushes in the corners of the unit that will get stuff in corners and against baseboards etc... it also has rotating brushes and the sides...I bought this one to replace my old swivel sweeper, which I have used and abused for several years now… The old sweeper still works OK enough. But this new sweeper has much more power, and the removable brushes make it easier to clean… And Yes, if you have anybody, or any thing, in your home with long hair, you will be cleaning the sweeper brushes...nothing is perfect. The one thing I wish they would have done better, is have a battery that you can recharge without having to pay attention to how long it is in the charger for.... this is the only rechargeable device that doesn't automatically charge the battery and shut off the charger when the battery is full. No big deal… I just set an alarm on my phone, and I never charge the battery unless I know I'm going to be home when it's done charging... on my old unit I have left the battery charged longer than the instructions allowed, he didn't kill the battery.... and after several years the battery still works.Another positive, is the battery for my old sweeper also works in this new unit, The old battery is a little bit weak, but in those instances where I'm doing quite a lot of touch up on our floors, an extra battery pack could help get the job done. When I am done using and abusing this floor sweeper, lin a few years, I will most likely buy another one.I looked at other units that were basically just "straight ahead" sweepers (meaning it had one or two brushes in the front only... The swivel sweeper has rotating brushes on the sides of the sweeper and in the corner sof the sweeper and it swivels with the flick of a wrist which makes it manuver extremely easily and quickly... other floor sleepers are like minivans; Great for hauling a lot of dirt in a straight line. This thing is like a sports car; its great for sweeping around corners and catching up a little bits of "Uh-ohs" and "oh no the inlaws just called to say there dropping by!...

Sweep Up
Honestly when it has came down to many As Seen On TV products, most of them really have not worked in the way that a lot of customers intended on them to be made. But some products really do work wonders for the wallet. Hard to believe that it has been over a decade since the Swivel Sweeper had been released and it definitely changed the way we vacuum and clean up our floors. But so many still are skeptical in knowing if they are better than most of those robotic vacuums of today. Well, the thing that I do love about the sweeper is that it really does as strong of a job as most vacuum companies have had their cleaners made like Oreck and Hoover. The Swivel Sweeper Max really does work well at cleaning your carpets and bare floors without many hassles. It is very lightweight and easy to carry, and really does a great job at picking up dirt, pet hair and fuzz from the floors. The sweeper works great, but there is one thing though that could've been improved. While the sweeper cleans up nicely, removing the cleaning heads to clean and remove tangled hair and things that can clutter the sweeper is more of a hassle. Still, the battery works flawlessly when you need to recharge it and there is no problems or wasted time. It is a really good product and I sincerely recommend the Swivel Sweeper Max.Price: B 1/2+Convenience & Setup: B+Overall: B 1/2+

Best $28 I've spent!
I’ve wanted one of these since seeing the infomercial a couple of months ago. The infomercial price seemed good until I saw the S&H. Yikes. I found it here at Amazon for the same price, but with free shipping, and also at Bed, Bath & Beyond, where I could use a coupon. I didn’t get around to going to BB&B, and had put it on my Wish List here in the meantime. Was sooo happy when I checked back and found the price had dropped from $39.99 to $27.70!It shipped pretty quickly and arrived within a couple of days. I was amazed it was in such a small box! It was compactly packaged with the handle in 3 pieces, but the parts were clearly marked & easy to put together. It came charged so I could try it out right away. First thing I noticed was it is very light-weight, but not so much that I felt like it was flying all over and not doing the job. I have a one-floor home, and I vacuumed the whole house in five or six minutes, including carpet and area rugs! It was so easy to handle, went into the corners, under the couch (which I really wanted), and up against the walls. There are brushes on all four sides, so it doesn't matter which way you do it. I was able to clean under the couch and loveseat easily with the low profile and even in between chair legs. It’s so easy to maneuver and turns whichever way you need.I did have to empty the little compartment before I could finish the entire house. It's a pretty small so it doesn’t hold a lot, but it only takes two seconds to press the little buttons while you hold it over the trash. I figured while I was emptying it, I'd try removing the brushes and see just how easy it is to clean them, since that was one of the big selling points for me (having a teenage girl with LONG hair). I had to consult the book after I couldn’t figure out how to remove them myself, but then it was easy. I can see, though, as some reviews say, that it might be a little tough for an older person, especially if they have arthritis. I popped each brush out, pulled off the hair, and while it didn't come off quite as easily as it did in the infomercial, it was still easy. Just a little pulling and it came right out. I can see I’ll have to do it pretty often, maybe every other time I use it.Happy to say, when I was done, my back wasn't hurting like it usually does after vacuuming, and I love that it’s cordless, so I didn’t spend the entire time fighting an annoying cord. So nice not having to move a cord from plug to plug to reach all of the rooms. The book says to charge it approximately 8 hours and not more than 12 to keep the battery working well, which will be no problem. I'll charge it overnight and take it off the next morning, as I have no doubt I'll be using it every day. This is going to make my daily cleaning routine SOOOO much easier. Best $28 I've spent in a while! Who knew it’d ever be fun to vacuum?!
