Spigen Style Armor Designed for LG G5 Case (2016) - Gunmetal

This is an excellent quality, low-profile, light duty case for the LG G5 owner who is careful with their phone and rarely removes their phone from the case. I wanted a case that was slim enough to carry in my pocket without feeling bulky, and smooth enough to slide in and out without pulling the rest of the contents of my pocket out with it. For me, this fits the bill perfectly. There is a thin edge, raised just enough to keep the screen from touching flat surfaces, with a rounded profile that isn't fatiguing when pressed up against the ear for long periods of time (that comment is for you, Otterbox Commuter!) This is a two piece case, however unlike most cases the main part one slides over the phone from the top with an extremely snug fit. A second piece slides over the bottom to complete the case while retaining the battery removal function.This case has individual, precise cutouts for the cameras and fingerprint sensor. This might not be important to some, but the single combined cutout approach that most case manufacturers use seems sloppy and unattractive to me. Both holes are beveled, with a generous bevel that allows easy access to the fingerprint sensor.The volume buttons protrude slightly from the side and are easy to press with my fingers when I want to, yet remain low-profile enough to avoid accidental use. The only time I have to be mindful is in the car, when attaching the phone to my RAM X-Grip mount ( Ram Mount Cradle Holder for Universal X-Grip Cellphone/iPhone with 1-Inch Ball - Non-Retail Packaging - Black ).Did I mention the fit is extremely, ridiculously snug? Gentle but firm is the rule with this case. When putting the case on you have to ease it on with firm pressure from the ends. In order to get it off, you have to grip the case firmly by the sides and ease it off by pushing an object such as a pencil eraser or the retracted tip of a pen through the opening for the headphone jack. (I should mention, when I first used my case I started getting warnings that my SD card had been removed. I removed the phone halfway and pushed in on the SIM/SD card carrier with my fingernail to seat it more firmly in its slot, since then the warnings have gone away and haven't returned.)I should stress that this is a light duty case made almost entirely out of hard plastic, save for a soft friction pad that is adhered to the inside back of the case. The lack of a rubber or silicone bumper means this case likely has almost no shock absorbing properties. I'm not willing to test it, but I don't think my phone would fare well if I dropped it 5 feet straight onto a concrete or asphalt surface. If you use your phone in a rough environment or have a history of dropping or breaking phones, but are interested in this style, I would look at one of Spiegen's other offerings instead.In summary, this case is excellent for someone who goes easy on their phones and wants an extremely low-profile, non-grippy, light-duty hard case. If your situation requires increased durability or grip I would look at a different option.

*This is pure honest feedback and I have no biased opinions regarding this product.*I liked this case from the second I spotted it online. I ordered it and it came in a timely fashion. For the most part, I like the case, but there are some details that you might consider.Pros: Protects screen (for the most part), Allows for accessing battery easily, Fingerprint works well with it, Easy-to-use volume buttons (this was a big concern of mine, since some cases ruin the volume buttons), Fits nicely on the phone.Cons: Slips a little in your hand, Case gets scratched up easily, Bottom piece easily falls off.If you're looking for a cute, easy-to-use case that protects your phone when dropped, then this is a great buy, for a great price!I am a bit scared that my phone will get scratched easily- my case is scratched up after a month of it in use. However, I have dropped my phone many times and I'm not scared that it will really break (thanks to the case). The case fits nicely on the phone, it's easy to put on, and it's nice that the bottom piece lets you take the battery out. But this does have its flaw because the bottom piece falls off sometimes. The phone can also feel like it slips out of your hand becaue the case is so slick. It's already a big phone and sometimes hard to hold in one hand, and the case can make it harder. The colors give it a nice touch of style and I've gotten comments that my case is nice and cute. All in all, I would rate a 4 on this Spigen case because it basically does its job of protecting the phone!

Very slim and good looking case. Has a premium soft touch matte feel that offers more grip than the bare phone but is still a bit slippery with dry hands, not a big deal. Also it doesn't get oily unlike plastic cases. Case is very snug with the phone and installation was a breeze, simply slide the phone in and attach the bottom piece. Removal is a bit more difficult but can be done without too much trouble by tugging on the bottom module while not applying too much pressure to the sides of the case. There's a friction pad on the interior of the case to prevent scratching of the camera and back. The module ejection feature works well and it is an ease to eject the module and push it back in. I'm using this case with a plastic screen protector so it fits fine, however this case is very snug so glass screen protectors probably won't work well.

UPDATE: 8/2/2016I decided to return this case for reasons below.1. This case is not mean to be remove and put back in because the fit is tight on lg g5. The bottom part is easy but top is really hard to the point where you get concern not to damage my lg g4. Not only that you have to pull the bottom, which is much more concerning.2. The case is slippery. I have the gunmetal color. They should have added a rubber coating on this case.The case had potential, just needed minor tweak and it would have been grey. gave it 4 star, now giving is a 3 star.----------------------------------------------------------------------I recently received this case in the gunmetal colors as it is the most attractive.The case is slim and it is the only case for now that can use that fully utilize removable of the battery for the LG G5. The case is thin so it does not add bulk to the phone.The case is plastic and it is actually slippery. The LG G5 is actually has more grip than this case.Below are my suggestions for spigen for this case.1. Need more colors, gunmetal, black, mint and pink? Are you serious? Who is the colorist for spigen? Where is the navy, blue, red? or even gold?2. Add side silicone rubber for added grip or even just add texture on the back of this case.If are you like me and utilize removable of the battery, then by this case. if not then look for other cases.

Good quality case, protects the phone very well and it looks nice.

Great case, very sturdy and well built, but slim for the substantial protection it provides. Perfect alignment.Some reviewers say that it is too stiff, but in part this may be a misunderstanding of the way to fit or remove the case. The case comes in two parts - first release the clip to divide the them. Then slide the phone into the main part of the case horizontally from the bottom (i.e. you do not try to clip it in, like you would with a softer rubber case). You then slide on the bottom section, again horizontally, and click the two parts together.Apart from the battery only section (which is easy to remove), the case is harder to remove, but if you push it using the headphone jack it comes apart easily enough. I would not recommend it for anyone who regularly removes their cover. However, the cover is so slim I don't feel any need to remove it.I also don't use a screen protector, I suspect they may not work well with this case.For those with spare batteries, it is easy to swap the battery without having to remove the case.

Great case, provides great protection with a stylish look.I drop my phone a lot and its been many months with no ill effects.
