GEAR AID McNett Tactical Ultra-Compact Micro-Terry Towel, Large, Coyote

I took this to the Galapagos Islands. I knew we would be doing many day trips that involved water and did not want to drag a big towel around with me all the time. This was PERFECT!! I am a fanatic about it now. The elastic straps and small pouch it came with were very handy too. I didn't use the pouch for the towel, so can't comment on it's fit. But I did use it to keep all of the smaller things in my bag together.The towel was lightweight, absorbed plenty, and dried fast. I took it everywhere and used it a ton. I wasn't soaking it in water, but just using it to dry off or sit on with wet bottoms. It doesn't dry instantaneously, but I don't recall ever dealing with a wet towel or waiting on it to dry.I read many reviews fro mother compact towels like this that said it would shed a lot of lint once washed. That didn't happen with this towel; it looks exactly the same as before I used it. My only improvement would be that it come in different colors. haha too petty to complain about and I would take this towel in this color over another with color options.

Seriously - why would tou go to the gym or travel without a microfibre towel??? It folds to a tiny size and dries in minutes. Have been using it (the same one) for a couple of years now and still a fan!

Why did I give this item only 3 stars? Well, the item I received is not the same as the one pictured. I had the McNett Micro Terry from a few years ago and wanted another for my gym trips. It’s extremely easy to wash and dry, but the item I received is not the same material or the same one shown in the picture. Instead, it’s a microfiber towel, and if you compare the two, there’s a significant difference.I’ll definitely keep this towel and use it, but I’m warning other buyers to be cautious because they might not get what they’re expecting.Here are pictures of both types of towels: the one on the right is the one I received on May 24, 2025, and the one on the left is what it should have been.As you can see, the pictures on the listing don’t match what’s actually sent.Also, it’s important to note that micro terry is not micro fiber. I wanted Micro Terry.

I purchased this item to replace an inferior micro fiber towel I used for the gym. I usually work out about twice a day, showering after each one. I am very impressed after a week of use. This towel dries extremely well. I drape the towel over my seat in my vehicle while I'm on shift and, even in the winter, it is completely dry! I was so impressed that I just gave one to my boyfriend as part of a Christmas gift. I also love the elastic bands included. I roll my underwear and tanktop inside the towel to make a hygiene roll. With other towels, I would use a boot band to keep it rolled up, but now I don't have to do that. The hygiene bag included as a bonus is not something I have used yet, but my boyfriend immediately transferred his stuff into it, and happily declared that it is the perfect size for his field kit. Overall, I am very satisfied with this product!

Like it, good towel and an absorbent, dries quick. A little pricey but you get what you pay for.
