Pulsar Men's PQ2013 Classic Digital Watch

This watch is beautifully built with top quality materials and manages to cram all time/date relevant information into it's well designed face.It is really unfortunate, however, that Seiko resorts to using 30 year old technology when it comes to the display and light functions:The non backlit display on this watch is very dim and hard to read (unlike the website pictures) making it a 2 handed watch: need to constantly push the light button to see time unless you're under direct bright light. As far as the light goes, they chose a micro LED that shines in blue or orange at the 11 o'clock position attempting to bathe the display with a pretty weak light instead of using a a backlight. Also it only lasts a couple of seconds on and the button to operate it (which happens VERY often) is the smallest and harder to find (3 o'clock).If all these sacrifices are done to save as much battery as possible, I say, think again Seiko. Give us better functionality. A wrist watch should not require two hands to use!How about a display with INK technology (like Kindle?) or maybe a Flick of the Wrist LED activation feature like the original Pulsar digital watches used to have 40 years ago ???eMZee

Received the watch 3 days after ordering; item arrived packaged excellently by the seller, Ashford Watches. Watch showed "low battery" when received but was operating. I took it to a watch store that night and had a new battery (CR2025) installed. Didn't mind spending $9 for a new battery when I got the watch for 80% off the retail tag ($185, which was attached to the watch). I kind of expected the battery condition anyway, since the watch is a 2011 model.After having it for a few days now, it works perfectly. Display is easy to see, and even easier if you switch it to the larger time display. Backlight is very good; I prefer the "blue" color although you can change it to amber. It is a larger, but very well built watch. I own several watches, and this will definitely be one of my favorites. All of the setting modes are fairly easy due to an excellent instruction manual.Pulsar is made by Seiko, and I have owned several of each for many years (30 for one!). With the build quality of the PQ2013 watch, I can tell this one will be around for a while also.All in all, excellent price, excellent packing and shipping.Thank you Amazon and Ashford Watches!

I read the reviews before purchasing this watch, and I decided to go ahead and take the plunge, even though there were some issues that visibility was a problem. I am unsure if the watch has been updated since those observations have been made, but I find the watch to be quite easily visible, even in fairly low light. While the illuminating light does seem to originate from a single corner of the watch, it is still very readable.I am typically quite tough on watches and, thus far, it has taken my normal day-to-day abuse quite well.The only thing keeping this from being a 5 star watch is the issue addressed by another reviewer about the battery. I really think that replacing a battery every 2 years is a bit too short of a time and would love to see something to lengthen that gap.

The watch was great at first. The shipping was very fast and the watch looks nice. After having it for a few weeks the orange band started to turn black even tho ive been taking good care of it. Just buy a new band for it.UPDATE: I haven't even had the watch for a month yet and already having problems. The light and sound quit working properly (once in a while they will work but most of the time they dont.) It can't be the battery because if so the battery symbol would be flashing to notify you that the battery is low. So in all 2 stars, i really wanted to like this watch but it turned out to be a piece of junk. It comes with a 3 year limited warranty but i don't think its worth taking the time sending it in and most likely paying extra.UPDATE: Well the battery light is flashing now after only having it for a month. I bought a new battery for it and open the back thinking i could change it myself...i was wrong, its more complicated than i thought. Going to have to take it to a jeweler to get the battery replaced.

It is a pulsar and I paid a lower price for it, so that's the best part. I love the color of the bands, but they seem to be made out of very cheap rubber. The light is also kind of old-school for a digital watch, but it matches the bands (orange) and it does its job. The weight is pretty decent and not too bulky. The digital face and modes are easy to navigate and looks really good.

The pq2013 met my needs for a readable face, stop watch, timer, and world clock. This is a great watch for pilots and those who travel a lot.As a suggestion, Seiko should look at developing a model that either uses lithium battery, solar, or kinetic to reduce the need to change out the battery every two years.

This is a nice watch. On many reverse digital watches it's hard to tell time because the face appears so dim. This one is fine out of the box and has some contrast adjustment options. The watch looks pretty good and functions well. The only negative is that it is a large and heavy watch.

I am somewhat disappointed, I didn't expect the alarm to give out in a year. The orange band turned black in 1 week and could not be cleaned with anything. The battery is very difficult to replace.I paid 100.00, it is now selling for 38.99.

La montre est originale, fun, moderne avec son bracelet orange, et offre une excellente finition. Le boitier en métal pèse son poids et ses dimensions sont dans les standards actuels. Elle propose de nombreuses options: rappels de rdv, choix d'affichage, fuseaux horaires et classiques alarme et timer...MAIS, sur mon modèle, j'ai eu un effet "clouding" comme sur certains écrans TV: une tâche blanchâtre dans un coin de l’écran noir à cristaux liquide. Et bien sûr, l’œil ne manque pas d'accrocher cette imperfection à chaque consultation de l'heure !J'ai renvoyé la montre, le SAV Amazon a été efficace , j'attends le remboursement pour commander à nouveau en espérant un modèle irréprochable.

All in all a good watch. It does everything well but I think the digital display could be clearer and the strap I don't think feels great. It works, it's waterproof and looks good. So I'm happy.

Arrived promptly the next day. Easy to set-up. A few reviews state display is not always easy to read but disagree as easy to adjust the brightness as well but I don't have any issues viewing the figures from any angle. Have two options, very big time without seconds, date (day number and month i.e. 07 APR) and day or smaller time with seconds, year, date and day. Would buy again.

Brilliant watch!! Everything it said it would be, and everything I had hoped for. Clear and legible information, very accurate time-keeping and it looks and feels great. I have no idea where the negative reviews come from, it is very straight forward to set up, use and change from one mode to another and back.
