First, let me say, appearance wise, these barrettes are very pretty. For the price, receiving four is good cost wise, or so I thought. While these aren't the "most expensive, or best quality type barrettes"out there, visually, they are pretty. Unfortunately,they have a major flaw. I'm not very pleased though with the "closure." It's a click/snap shut type. That in of itself would be fine. However, it is NOT made as well as the more expensive and shall I say, better made barrettes. It gets completely stuck and jams when trying to close or open and I had much difficulty each time trying taking the barrette out of my hair. It actually got "stuck in my hair," and after what seemed like several minutes, I finally got it out of my hair. (In actuality, this took approximately more than a minute and a half). That's still far too long to take out a simple barrette!I would have rated at LEAST four stars, but for the reasons stated above, had to give it less. Returning this would be a nuisance so begrudgingly, I'll keep them. I'll probably use them in crafts and NOT in my hair. These are not worth the lower cost, annoyance or tugging of your hair.. I assure you.

Excellent quality. Well assembled using sturdy clasps. It has a double bar so the clasp snaps into that one leaving the decorative bar securely attached to the mechanism, but not pushed or pulled.Easily holds my medium thick hair in place without pinching or pulling. Comfortable after many hours and no fly aways.The decorative bar is beautiful. Optically nice balance between sparkly stones and pearlescent painted flowers creating a sophisticated and feminine style.Four in a box with each one individually wrapped. They make beautiful stocking stuffers.

I purchased these and I didn't read the description well. The barrette on these are only 2 inches so they were way too small for my hair and I have thin hair. If I put up only a small portion of my hair then it would probably work but I like putting my hair up in a pony tail. They are certainly beautiful and if I see they come with a larger barrette then I'll purchase them.

these are really beautiful and I think they would work well for thick hair pulled into a pony tail. I wanted barettes for the side of the head and the clip portion is very tall/thick so it stands away from my head and you can see mostly clip.

I am SO excited that I chose to buy this 4 piece barrettes set. I have a LOT of long hair and I’m super particular about functionally controlling it in my very physical job AND I have to look my best as a store manager. These barrettes are very sturdy but they also stretch well for my thick hair. The flowers and colors are just gorgeous and for 4 of them I’m shocked at what a great value they are. My husband likes to buy me broaches and he commented that they looked like “broaches for your hair”. Definitely worth it and would buy again.
