It doesn't need any additional safety features as the motor can't be activated unless the two parts are connected (top and bottom compartments). Additionally, to operate the motor you have to keep your finger on the button. As soon as you remove your finger the motor stops. It's as safe as one can get and it's wuite powerful. The only thing to be wary of is if you are cleaning the blades, be extra careful as like all processor blades, they are sharp. The best way to clean these type of blades is with a washing up sponge. Simply make sure you have enough washing up detergent on the sponge to make it quite foamy then simply wipe the sponge along the blades and then rinse the soap off under a running tap. If possible, don't attempt to dry with a cloth and allow the blades to dry naturally in a dish drainer. Apart from cleaning the blades, you have absolutely nothing to worry aboput regarding this product's safety.
