Wonderful!
A gift from my godparents this book shows how the worship of God's people has grown and maintains its roots.

Excellent Book
This is an excellent, well written book for any Christian... Orthodox, Catholic or Protestant.

A thorough and readable exposition
Raised Roman Catholic, I developed my own 95 Theses at the age of 21 somewhere in the Pacific while in the Navy and discipling with The Navigators. Occasionally I would visit an Orthodox church with friends who attended, but we never discussed what was happening in the service. This book fills that void. And having been to a few Orthodox services it seems a well done, coherent picture of what happens and why.

Great entry point to Orthodox
Jay Dyer has a great recommended reading list on his site. After two decades of being a Christian, I am finally finding a spiritual home in Orthodoxy. This book is a great help for anyone seeking to understand more about Orthodox Christianity and the liturgical life.

This is a must read, really!
This is a fantastic book on the history and continuity of Liturgical practice. Many, many of my own gaps in theological knowledge are pulled together in this book. I rarely write reviews, but this book is required reading for all Christians.
