Very Well Built
The safe is very sturdy and seems well built. Delivery was ahead of schedule and packed very well with no marks or damage. The second lock requiring a key provides additional security and the size is good for documents, valuables and small items. Exactly what I was looking for.

Great, high quality safe
Little smaller than expected and the shipping company just dropped it right outside my gate so I couldn't even fully open the gate. And dropped it off without contacting me or letting me know, or making me sign something to confirm the delivery. Also, be warned that you'll NEVER open this in a hurry. The keys DO NOT open the safe without inputting the code. The code is 4 numbers but you have to spin the dial past the previous number MANY times. For example if the code is 5, 35, 41, 10You have to spin clockwise 4 full rotations to reset, land on 5, spin counterclockwise 3 full times then land on 35, then spin clockwise 2 times to 41, then back to 10. It can be a chore. But, SECURITY is rarely convenient so keep that in mind. However, all that aside, this safe seems extremely well built, heavy and sturdy.

Great safe and reasonably priced.
I just received this safe, so I can't say how it will be in a year or 2. However, I really like it now. Its all steel, very heavy, and the combination mechanism is very smooth. I've bolted it into place and know that it will take quote a bit of effort from a thief to break into it, or to tear it out of the wall and steal the entire safe.

Buyer cannot set a personal code
The combination code on this safe cannot be customized or changed (which in my opinion is a safety/security issue), it is manufactured in China and the code is set by Steelwater. It was nearly impossible to open, not user friendly. And if you need to return it READ THE LEGAL DISCLAIMER; All charges will be determined by Steelwater Gun Safes but will be fair and considerate to the buyer; - only the first part of this sentence is accurate the latter is untrue

Good quality, well packaged
Got this today - super well packed in 3 boxes so no damage at all. I like the old style dial combination lock - no batteries to worry about and it is well made. Perhaps a little smaller than I expected but it will do fine. The top draw is nice and there is room for what I need. Appears to ver very well built and the best part is that it is heavy enough to deter a thief but light enough that I can move it some on my own.

Seems fine. Another one of those products I never want ...
Seems fine. Another one of those products I never want to provide an evaluation of - it's a fire protection safe after all. But the safe seems sturdy and not really cheaply made. If I was protecting from burglary I would probably research a different product, but I was really looking for fire protection for important documents.Don't forget to place documents and other items in a plastic Ziplok type bag prior to storage/ I don't think this is emphasized enough. The safe pulls in environmental moisture to do its job - this means moisture and, potentially, mold on your paper documents. Probably a dessicant would be advisable as well. But definitely put your stuff in a sealed plastic bag.

How it could be better so I will buy one.
Having had many at home dates I believe this unit possesses many of the features that are desirable to myself. I am very glad the shelves are not plastic. A concealed shelf shorter than the others would be a nice benefit perhaps requing a key. One shelf should also be fire resistant and water proof. This LINE of safes could be marketed with additional options as is the current practice. "AMSWD-500 2 BASE" model would be as seen above. PROEFTION PLUS + would incorporate four anchor bolts and a plate to which they would securely mount. "PROTECTION PLUS + discreet" would allow for the placement in concealed areas, under a desk that reached the floor, behind a picture, your imagination is the only limit. The PROTECTION PLUS + and the PROTECTION PLUS discreet would also incorporate the "BRING IT ON SHELF" or that item like like the assorted bags and desiccant pouches could be sold for EXTRA piece of mind. An intangible that is very hard to put a price on but I am confident you have the ability. "PROTECTION EXTREME" Removes the misconstrued weaknesses of extra mounting holes that discreet mounting requires. By loosing that small degree of flexibility you are able to add biometric entry with or without key or even requiring both. Also include is a rechargeable Lithium battery. A second battery and charger provide opportunity to demonstrate the benefits of having more than one power supply. Of course you could charge the onboard battery via the supplied cord or you could just plug in the spare battery long enough to open the vault door and with the quick swap connection have a fully charged battery at the ready. While utilizing the full battery the recent low voltage battery will begin charging once connected to the simple slide in / slide out charger. AA or AAA batteries, 99% of batteries at supermarkets, toy stores example only provide 1.5 volt, rechargeable batteries provide even less. My expensive, relatively single home deadbolt system barely turns the lock at full charge with the best money batteries can buy (it uses 4 consequently so 6 volts). A standard extra voltage battery with high amperage for cold or heat could turn larger bolts smoother and more reliable with only 9 to 12 volts. It would be very compact, more than capable of any inclimate weather. Low power light and tone would be easily recognized long before there was a problem. A short cable could recharge the battery or as is very common these days a phone sized charger left inside the panel would charge the onboard battery. The cord would only be necessary if you found yourself out of power and unable to remember the code. I HOPE YOU WILL SEE MY IDEAS AND INCORPORATE THEM IN FUTURE MODELS.Thank you,David Stephens
