SkyCaddie SkyGolf GameTracker 2 GPS Tracking System

I didn't have as bad of set up issues as documented in another review, but the instructions are totally inadequate for use. The device seems to work fairly well, once you figure it out, but the quick start guide is bad and the lack of overall instructions make this potentially good product frustrating.

Apparently, after dealing with several customer support reps who told me android Samsung phones would setup smart tags, one rep finally said ONLY iphone/ipads would setup the Tags. Once you setup the Smart Tags on an i-device, then the app on the Samsung S9+ worked great! This is not spelled out anywhere on their web site. Many of their reps don't seem to know this either. So, if you are trying to set up your Smart Tags for your clubs, do it on an iphone/pad!

This sucks. They say it only works on courses they have mapped. Nothing about it in add. OK I will except that you don't have gps map but why do I tap the unit and I don't get my distance of of shot and club used. My home course isn't mapped. I've also played courses that are mapped. I played one yesterday and all I ever got was a picture of the hole and then oops you have to be on hole to get info. I'm standing on tee box same thing it kept doing it for the 9 holes I played. Not once did I get the distance to hole. The unit was Bluetooth sync with my Iphone

SkyGolf app and GT2 almost worthless. Been working with the tech support team with limited response and results. I entered multiple tickets and most of the time all they do is ask for more info or wait for the next update. Without the GT2 the yardage is very inaccurate, freezes frequently, clubs don’t read from RFID, so basically most of the functions don’t work. Very frustrated.

I purchased on of these GT2 units and it did not work. I could not get the clubs learned. They sent me a replacement unit and it did not work either; again I could not get the clubs learned. Skygolf made me responsible for shipping the unit back to them. From my experience I would not advise anyone to purchase this device.Look at the Garmin alternative!

I am sure this product may potentially work very well. However, after numerous setup issues, I could not get the companion Skycaddie app to work (would not display maps and distances). Numerous chat sessions and some international telephone calls later, I still could not get this to work. My version also had a defect in the case, although I doubt this caused the issue (it all seemed to be caused by the app and how support set up my account). Support was a disgrace and failed to respond to requests for help.

Zero customer support. GT2 won't learn the tags. Did I mention zero customer support? A complete waste of money.

The smart tags do not work with Samsung Galaxy phone. The rest of the applications work fine, but the major selling point of this product is that you can track you shot distances for each club using the smart tags.
