Great to help me teach drawing!
I have been teaching a few classes from PreK through grade 2 online when my school gets shut down due to corona cases. The kids love to do guided drawings during our zooms. I’m not the best artist so I’ve found this book to be super helpful! It breaks down adorable drawing into 4 or 6 steps that are easy to follow with great results! There are an assortment of pictures that fit into many of the themes we are working on from transportation to food to mythology to animals. There’s lots of Kawaii that are really popular with some of the second graders. I pretty much follow the steps on my dry erase board holding it up snd the zoom and I described what I did. The kids at home follow along with their boards and we share our final products. This is great for downtime and getting the kids to chat for some social interaction. They love sharing there drawings. This book is a Godsend because now I don’t have to watch and remember YouTube video to teach a drawing! I highly recommend for online teaching!

Great Potential but Hard to See Doodles
The how to use explanation is mostly clear. The first step is the only thing that confuses me. Is the child to copy from a separate sheet of paper or are they adding shapes from the other steps onto shape number 1? The themes of this book are really cute and show a lot of different options. One major thing I noticed while looking through the doodles is that they are hard to read. Even though the intentions are to keep it realistic like a pencil, for five-year old’s, it’s a bit too thin and light to see (even for my eyes to follow). I would recommend making the line just slightly thicker and for the grey lines to darken with dotted lines or black dotted lines because if the child does try to trace when they put a sheet over it, only the black will show. This how-to-draw book has great quality of fun and durability; however, if the images were slightly bigger/thicker, and darker, kids will have a likelier chance to continue using it to help them draw.

Helps young kids learn to draw!
My 6 year old really loves to draw but it’s difficult to find books to fit his age level. This book is perfect for your little one that love art and like to draw. The art work on the front cover is so cute and colorful. When you first open the book there’s an introduction that tells you how to use the book and includes an email address to request free drawings. There’s so many different cute pictures for them to learn to draw, step by step. My son sat for hours going through each page and following the directions. It’s tough to keep him engaged in any tasks, let alone something that doesn’t involve a screen. This book is a winner for sure! If your young child likes to draw, get them this! You won’t be disappointed.

EXCELLENT book on learning to draw
This book came to me at the perfect time. I have a child in pre-K and his drawings are still pretty basic - a lot of stick figures, suns, rainbows etc and since I'm not a great artist either I was struggling with how to show him some new ideas. This book is perfect. It starts simple with animals and progresses into fun/silly foods, mythical creatures etc. I love the idea that you can move into each step and add a little more detail or you can use a totally separate sheet of paper and go straight for the finished product. My child is 5+ so this book is perfect for his age and attention span as well.

Lots of room for error and growth. CUTE drawings
This is a great learning to draw book for a younger age group. I like that it's for 5+ years old. There are 101 items/animals to learn to draw. What's great is that the final step animal/item is nearly completely outlined in a very light shade of gray, so the super young child can try their best to trace over it if they don't understand how to follow the steps. For the older child, there are a particular number of "steps". In each step, one part of the item is very dark and that's the part the child draws and then they move to the next step and add on to their drawing with each step. For the younger child, I recommend they trace the steps. For the older child, I feel it would be best to have a separate blank drawing book, so they can try to follow the steps on fresh paper.

Age appropriate, fun, and confidence building!
I really liked the way this workbook was designed. It starts small, having the child draw one piece of the whole. Then, they draw the first piece again, and now the second piece, allowing the child to practice through repetition, building to the whole picture. Simple concepts, through fun things to draw like basilisks, fairies, animals, and household items.Overall a great way to work on hand eye coordination, as well as just to have fun with learning art!

101 different things to draw! Great price
This is one of the cutest learn to draw books I've seen! And the price is great, especially since it has 101 things to draw. The step by step instructions are easy to follow. I like that it is sectioned off by what type of item there is to draw whether it is food, cars, animals, etc. With so many items to pick from, they won't get bored of having to draw the same things over and over again. They can practice through the whole book and then start over again to keep improving their drawing skills.Overall, I think this is a great workbook with endless amounts of fun!

Drawings everywhere!
The drawing steps took a small bit of explaining and some good lighting to see well, but it turned out to be fun.The lines are light enough to give it a suggestion of where to put the lines, but not dark enough so that it's easy to trace. The section on mythical creatures got my daughter's attention VERY quickly and now there are drawings of unicorns and mermaids everywhere!
