Ryukakusan Direct Herbal Supplement Mint (16 sachets) (1 Box) (Solstice)

I had a cold with an itchy throat and some coughing while I was traveling in Japan. The pharmacist referred me to take the mint flavored Ryukakusan one packet up to six times a day. After I took three packets a day for two days, I was fully recovered. Now, whenever I felt the first symptom of a scratchy throat, I will take the powder immediately and it never d develop into a cold and I was fine.I will order more when I ran out and I will always bring them with me when I travel.

I have been coughing for over a year, on and off (I know it’s crazy). Met with dozens of doctors, both western and Chinese, I even tried acupuncture at one point! Tried all OTC medicines you could think of (cough syrup, cough drops, acid reflux meds, nasacort... you name it), nothing helped!!!I almost gave up until it hit me the other day that my friend gave me a pack of Ryukakusan from Japan. Since that one expired I tried searching on amazon, and found it!! God how soothing it was the first time I tried. I am sure it’s gonna stop me from coughing soon...Btw it doesn’t taste good, mint + some herbs so it’s a little bitter. But if it helps my cough, I don’t care how it tastes....

When I first ordered this Japanese cough powder, I felt it worked well. I even ordered the peach flavor which was cheaper. However, it isn't available now. The Blue box mint one somehow doesn't work as well. Did they change the formula? Or has my cough progressed more? It's rather expensive for 16 sachets. This is the second time I ordered it. I find it's still expensive but it works.

I have used this in Japan many years ago. This is easier to swallow because of the mint flavor.It works to reduce and control the cough.

I take one immediately at the onset of an inkling of a sore throat. It immediately gives temporary relief of the sore throat. My sore throat does not materialize into a full blown cold. Not sure if it's related, but in past years, my sore throat typically turns into a cold or flu.

Not very powerful

Absolutely incredible! We found these in Osaka and love them. Just take one if you feel a little tickle in your throat and you'll be amazed! My daughter and I took these every day while the rest of our large family was down with sickness - we never caught it!

Tastes funky but works very well to suppress coughs.
