Does the description's height of 7 13/16" (7.8") include the terminal posts? If not, what is the height of battery from base to top of posts?

Hi BrianI measured my battery roughly using a cheap tape but here goes. I measured the height of the plastic casing at approx. 7 1/4 by 10 inch long and 3 1/2 inch wide but from the bottom of the case to the top of the post is approx. 8 1/8 inches. Strange enough this battery would lie flat on it side in the battery tray with the posts towards the engine in my 40 Ford. I could stack two of them on their side if I had the right cable hook up. Nice battery, small for the standard tray but has decent power and holds its charge very well just sitting in garage 6 months. Hope this helped somewhat.Wayne

hi will this battery fit a 1955 series 1 chev 6 cyl pick up

I have the 6 volt version in my 1952 Chevrolet Hardtop. The battery will fit in the battery box at an angle. It is longer than the standard GM battery but much narrower, therefore you can angle it in the box and support the hold-down at the opposite corners and it will work fine. I had my Optima for 6 years in my Chevy.

Can these be wired in series, I know you can buy 12 volt but 6 volt wired in series work much better in RV's

a 12V optima battery should be the same as 2 six volt batteries in series. The six cells in a 12V battery are connected in series inside their case.
