I just received my ICE starter set. What a beautiful train set! I am always amazed by the detailed accuracy and beauty of these models and would hope to ride, perhaps get an opportunity to operate such a fine mode of transportation if ever in Germany. Sturdy, well crafted, detailed and authentic to the actual train itself from what I can tell. Track and transformer not included. It has a middle 3rd rail type contact piece underneath the front center truck (bogey) of the engine (power car.) So you would definitely need the track required specifically made for its operation. I am uncertain if the catenary works for authentic operation, but my model will be more of a display show piece. Well worth the investment for rail hobby enthusiasts and definitely not recommended for small children unless you have several hundred dollars to throw away if damaged. Includes operational instruction booklet should you want to acquire track for it and a warranty sheet with address information. I am extremely pleased with this purchase!
